well, good job for the Czech team - they played a very good strategic game. They covered all the Russian forwards, leaving them very little space for creativity.

As for the Russian team, it seems they were somehow psychologically not well prepared - they were nervous and were messing up too much.

Very disappointing, and Bragin's conclusions and adjustments after the match will be important.

Scherbak didn't deserve to be there for a number of reasons, but mostly because he looked terrible in the SSS when he knew that a good performance was necessary to win a roster spot. His presence would have made no difference at all, unless he made it worse.

Sounds great, but I'm afraid they're going to have to find another way. The USA hasn't played well in a single game this tournament, but they will get inspired to beat Russia. This Russian team is leaderless, and if a team like the USA or the Czechs plays with energy and emotion, the Russian team will cave in and quit working. When they fell behind tonight, they just kind of bumped into each other for the rest of the game. A thorough humiliation well deserved!

and before that they were great? we looked like crap in all games (besides few shortlived stretches in each game except with chezs) and you keep heaping one excuse after another to exonerate them.
