Actually only about 4 teams are playing in the playoffs when the wc games are on so no, the best players are not playing in the playoffs.

That wasn't the point the other poster made. Just saying it's not Russia's fault Canada is always choking with their NHL players. Also WC is much more relevant than WJC although i like wjc more.
