It would be funny if it wouldnt so sad. Kazakhstan produces almost zero talent and their U-20 and U-18 would get ripped apart in the elite division, so they just buy up players from other countries..

Don't watch futsal lol Kazakstan had bought the whole team from Brazil.. it was kinda sad since it was the European Champioships. I cried and laughed at the same time..

Edit well not literally but the best ones weren't their own players :)

Im sure Kazakh tax payers appreciate such smart spending of their hard earned money:sarcasm: but i guess thats what you get living in an autocratic country.

Those really arent impact players in NHL:laugh: until they get Tarasenko, Malkin, Kucherov, Ovi over its not looking good for Russia.

That's the point, it is the equivalent of Canada selecting likes of Read, Chimera, Burrows, Ott, Downie, Laich etc.

They should give more chances to players like N. Gusev, Khokhlachev, M. Grigorenko, Tryamkin or Buchnevich. Also, Zaripov should be there.

watching this game on TSN, did the commentator just say Russia is waiting for Ovechkin, Kuchnetzov, Orlov and Burakovksy? I am sure they gotta wait a looooong time to get Burakovsky
note to commentators, not all Russian sounding names are Russian

Spending a lot of money on sports is clearly cultural learnings of America for make benefit glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. :sarcasm:

Finland had a tough time also with Kazaks last time. I'm not too surprised. I assume Kazaks have also KHL players with nothing to lose.

4-4 wow.

Dustin Boyd from Winnipeg playing well for Kazakhstan.

Maybe it is a bit ignorant to say that. We can then the same say for France, Norway or Germany (that they produce zero talent), because they are in the same tier as Kazakhstan (1A which is one tier below Elite Division) in both categories. Kazakhstan team was actually in both categories third which means that they are 13th in the world if we look at it that way.

Speaking of this; Hungary has five naturalized players and Belarus three. So it is not like Kazakhs are the only one who do that.

But the difference between a team like Germany and Kazakhstan is that Germany actually produces players that get drafted(ie Dreisatl) who was the last player from Kazakhstan to be drafted?Antropov?

I wasn't sure what you mean so I googled Burakovsky... damn I was absolutely sure dude is Russian

It's not like Latvia has produced any prodigal talents lately either. There's not a single superstar in our team.

They do have 1 MHL and 2 VHL teams so they should be producing something and they obviously are but not enough top talent it seems.

No no superstars unfortunatley, but our juniors are head and shoulders above Kazakhstan. Kazakstan hasnt even produced a Girgensons or even a Dzierkals -level prospect since well probably Antropov. We look to be on a pace for 2-3 NHL draftees/year. So not even comparable.
