Few thoughts about the game:

Today we officially buried our chances at 1/4 finals, now its basically impossible
Masaļskis is a damn swiss cheese(pun intended)- atleast 3 of the goals were his fault, dude is old and washed up from now Merzļikins has to play the rest of the tournament.
Beresņevs is a ****ing joke once again making god awful decisoon regarding defencemen(****ing Širokovs on the roster,really?)
The only positive thing about this game was that we showed the ability to score and thats always good.

Swiss players: doctors of last minutes

Should be an interesting battle to stay in Elite Division. Match between Kazakhstan and Latvia could be crucial, but even Denmark and Norway are not safe yet. Remember last year when Austria was relegated with five points.

I wouldn't say our hockey players are much better. In fact, the whole system stinks. If there is someone we should facepalm at, it would be the president of LHF. Basically, Beresnevs can't change anything, because he's been coaching the NT for a short period of time.

With defence like ours, anything is possible. We have Siksna on our first pairing! Siksna! Dude shouldnt be on our D team , not to mention bums like Širokovs,Jerofejevs,Andersons.... you can only go so far shuffling garbage on the defensive pairings. Seriously the only one who is actually good is Sotnieks, the rest probably shouldnt even be near Latvian NT

That being said, there will be many opportunities for Elvis to face Switzerland in the future.

Yes, we managed to get only 2 pts from close games, but we have to consider the remaining schedule as well. All of NOR, DEN and SUI have tough remaining match-ups and with former two we still have head-to-heads. Everything is still in our hands, and we can make SUI pay for their losses vs KZK and NOR once all is said and done. Yes, the last game was a disaster and both Masalskis and skaters looked weak, but the positive way of looking at this could be that the most tragic performance of this tournament is behind us.
