huge win, the guys always believe in it. In this we really can't fault Fischer, everyone is giving 100%. Very unlucky today with some deflections.

Still can't comprehend why Latvia didn't play Elvis.....it would have been a great story vs Switzerland, his adoptive nation, and Fischer, the coach the launched him in NLA. :(

Elvis wouldn't have changed anything

I know there's that "brand new toy" aura around Merzlikins, but Masalskis has shown he's a capable goalie too and sharing the load over a tournament is definitely the smart thing to do. Latvia's coaching staff should think about their team and not what could be a special occasion for one of their players.

That being said, there will be many opportunities for Elvis to face Switzerland in the future.

That could depend on his team's and his own success he'll have in NA in the future. He certainly has the game to gain a Nr.1 spot in the NHL

Well looks like the Swiss aren't getting relegated after all. Some close scares early, but some of that had to do with puck luck, they were massively outshooting teams early on.

Because we are all really nice to each other I just wanna say that Latvia is an amazing place and I hope your team will have more success in the future (not against the swiss though..please).

Everybody was busy hating their own teams.

Haha this, so much :D

Good win, showed the moral needed, I was sure they could do it.
Now, we need a win vs one of the bigger ones to reach the quarters. Not very likely but possible.

Although it's hard to hate the swiss team, you are more driven crazy by their ineffectiveness to bring their effort on the score sheet. It's more a Sysyphos/Don Quijote kind of feeling...
