On bolded - might want to read my post again.

I was saying that if Devils pick Hughes, hopefully it's because they think he's the better player. Not because he's electric. Not because he's American. I honestly didn't put it in a very unclear manner in my opinion.

If Devils think Hughes is the inferior player and still pick him because he's "electric" or "American", that would be very dumb. If Devils think he's the superior player, then picking him is obvious and electricity or nationality should be of no concern.

On this topic, "electric" another buzzword that means nothing, joining "dynamic".

NHL is still a money-making business. If they had a Finnish team in NHL, I think they would have to seriously consider picking a Finnish superstar over a non-Finnish superstar, just because of how much energy it would bring to their franchise.

Of course, if there's a clear difference in skill between the two players, then you go for potential instead of marketability, otherwise you're going to build a poor team.

Yes if Hughes was clearly inferior that’d be dumb.

I think when describing Jack Hughes as electrifying most people will know exactly what it means.

A player being good makes them marketable. Washington isn't in Russia, as we know.

Hopefully Kakko gets a bit more ice time on this PP.
