Anttila should never be able to skate past you. If he does, that only means that you guys have BIG problems to attend to.

Isn't Round Robin just a vacation in Europe partying, while playing some beer league hockey sometimes for Canadians?
Not this year. In the semifinals, they're seeded. The highest placed will automatically face the lowest seeded after round robin. Also, the gold medal game will not have penalties in a tie, it'll be 3 on 3 hockey until someone scores.

So if you take the round robin as vacation, you'll have a very hard time winning the tournament.

For Finnish fans: What is Anttila's role on the Finnish team? Is he just a defensive forward windmill? Because his puck skills seem quite bad.

I don't think you can overlook the clear top tier offensive ability of Hughes though, teams can't/don't pass that up.
It's a comparable. For example, if McDavid was on this same draft, you would pass up on that clear top tier offensive ability of Hughes.

Not exactly buying that Kakko has limited offensive ability.

One word: confidence. This team looks just like Jalonen. They don't give up and they battle hard. What a difference one year makes. We did pretty good last year only because of individual skill. Now we have coaching.
Whether Finland wins or loses this game we can already tell that Jalonen is a genious. Best coach in the world for European rink, the way this team is coached..incredible.

TSN mentions how the Finns in FEL battle for the Canada-Bowl. Neat touch, these things are why I follow a TSN stream all day over a Finnish broadcast.

I didn't say he had limited offensive ability, just that at this point in their development as players I THINK Hughes has more, but it's just my opinion. It seems to be shared by the scouts too as he's been expected to go number one for quite some time now and nothing I have read suggests anything has changed.

Who will be the better player for sure? I don't know, does anyone?

These elite level Canadian players are struggling on the big ice. Why? Isn’t bigger ice favour the faster and more skilled players? Guys like mark stone and marchessault look totally lost. Maybe it’s cause they can’t crash and attack like they do on smaller ice, they don’t have as good hockey iq as people think
