Strome looks slow and in poor form today.

Canada being led physically and offensively by a guy who's 5'10, 180 lbs.

Meaningless game for Sweden but should still bring it home with ease as the better team

Ref missed two clear as day calls on Canada though

Entrrtaining period. Sweden clearly superior after the first, Söderström giving up a juicy rebound that led to a goal. Other than that I bet Sweden are happy with the period

5 on 5, we actually were good - not great, but good. Too many stupid penalties, but we're playing the right way 5 on 5: fast-paced.

When this team turns up the tempo, the only other team that can play with us is the U.S.

Hopefully that will happen before the end of the game on the 2nd. As of now, I'm yet to see it outside of a 10-minute spell against Denmark.

I always laugh whenever the Euros here cry "goons" whenever the game gets physical. As if they are somehow "above" physical hockey.

There is hitting in hockey. Hitting helps you win games. Canada changed the momentum when they started hitting. Get used to it.

This is what you get from JV. I love his game. It may not translate to International Rules but man he is the type of physical player you want in an NHL playoff series !

Dude had the balls to destroy Mcdavid in a prospect tournament during summer hockey !

He is like a Lucic in a sense where you have to take the good w. The bad. He will definitely be prone to bad penalties w. His style of play. But he will also make players on other teams to be very nervous when they have the puck. Players like him are valuable !

Lowry continues to make weird, illogical decisions on who gets icetime.

Shoving Virtanen out their repeatedly to make stupid choices, take stupid penalties for starters...

Then not elevating the guys with energy, enthusiasm and grit - who also have skill aka Stephens, Konecny...

Not elevating solid defenders such as Sanheim and Dermott...

:help:

That moment when you watch Canadian stream as a Swede. :help:

Time for the Swedish TV networks to shape up.
