Finland was good at the beginning of the period. Then they start losing battles and USA was better at the end. But solid period for Finland, better than I expected.

I know if I lived in Toronto/Montreal I'd pick up some tickets to the USA and Sweden games too.

As much as I want Canada to win I really enjoy player watching instead.

If it was Canada/Sweden or Canada/USA I'd probably spend a lot more of my time watching Nylander/Gauthier/McDavid/Eichel/Matthews than I would actually cheering for Canada.

I remember tickets being a bit on the expensive side when I went to the WJCs, and that was about 5 years ago. Still a good bit cheaper then Leafs or Habs tickets though I'd imagine.

Where did that finnish penalty come from anyway? Eichel is pretty good but the game is far from over.

I'm sorry but i didn't see anything special from Matthews. And Julius Honka, oh my god he's gonna give me a heart attack, he looks like he's having a afternoon walk with his dog out there.......

I know Eichel is the shiny new toy available for all 30 teams at this point but i don't see that assist as anything special.

He fumbled the puck twice, then had guy wide open right in front of the goalie. Nice, but nothing special. All happened because of terrible defensive coverage by the Finns.

I thought the exact same thing. You'd expect that the reigning champions v. south of the border (USA) would garner much more interest- even if preliminary round.

I had tickets for all the games in Buffalo and most games were almost sold out. Especially games right before Canada. Montreal needs to get its **** together.

Matthews looks good on PP, but other than that he looks like a young kid out there that looks lost at times.

Matthews wasn't anything special. a lot of average from both teams. eichel had a nice pass but fins lost their man in front

Me neither, it was a good play but nothing fantastic. You have to expect in a tournament full of draft prospects that the hype machine will be out in full force.

I thought Eichel looked good. Every time he gets the puck he controls the play. Team USA is running around all over until he gets it and slows the play down then they all sort of fall in place. Otherwise, they look quite sloppy. Towards the end of the period wasn't it Eichel that dangled around a few fins skating towards the offensive blueline then made a backhand pass that his teammate lost control of? Or was that someone else?

Outside of Eiche, I'm pretty let down by how the team as a whole has looked. But it's one period.
