And risk him getting injured? Nah I'm happy they're not thinking short term
Apparently a goalie has never played 3 straight and not been at a high risk for injury.

You have to admit it's weird to back off so hard though. Like just vacate the area. It's like they're inviting that and have decided to take their lumps. Don't think you have that luxury with your low quality backup in net.
He's out to lunch on this one for sure. Like, giving a shooter that much time and space on the PK is begging to get scored on.
Yo. It happens. Other teams will get shots.

Islanders giving us two breakaways is asking to get scored on. Like 15 3 on 2s is asking to get scored on. Giving up the puck right in front of their own net is asking to get scored on.

But goalies are paid to make saves and especially paid not to have their save % below f***ing .850. So what. One time this game a player had an open shot against us. So we deserve to get scored on? If that were the case every game would end 12-11

Why is it so difficult to f***in win 3 straight? Ullmark wins 2 back to back and we put in Forsberg. I swear Travis Green is starting to irritate the f*** outta me. Guy has never been a winner as a player or a coach and management go out to get him as if he's done a shit in this league.
Who else do we hire? Honestly, we need a backup goalie who isn't going to single handedly lose us the game. We also need a team who has the instinct to score on the PP and keep it out of our net on the PK.

Should’ve just saved Forsberg for Carolina on Friday since we’re going to lose that game anyway.

Team had some momentum. Ah well. They played a good game, the forward lines are rolling, and Ullmark will be back vs Anaheim. Just a really frustrating way to lose.

I see what you're saying, but I guess I just think that one was egregious. Don't really want our PK strategy to leave wide open 10 foot shots down low. And yes, Forsberg is bad.

Last time this happened, they went in to lose 5 straight. No more moral victories
wouldn’t be a big deal if games like this were the outlier. The reality is they lose games like this way too often where they bring a solid effort and the opponent doesn’t. It’s a symptom of not having skilled players and bad goaltending. Not going to win many games like that.

Jensen made a bad read on the PK. It happens. The Islanders were making mistakes all night but they had a goaltender that belongs in the NHL.
Yeah exactly. Oh no a bad read! So what? Does that mean it needs to be an automatic goal? f*** no. Other teams don’t live by those rules. It’s f***ing stupid.

Other goalies can play well and we can still win. Tonight is that night. We scored 2. No way an NHL goalie should be giving up 3 goals on those 12 shots
It was a bad combo of Sorokin playing fantastic and Forsberg not having a good game. Every goalie has bad games. Every goalie has good games. Impossible to win when your goalie has a bad one and the other team has a good one.

Hopefully the team can take pride in the fact that it was a very close game despite the huge goalie difference tonight. They played very well, if they play like that every night they will win more than lose.

There were few mistakes but let's face it, we can't lose games like this largely because of weak goaltending. We need to replace Forsberg with a capable player who won't shit the bed half the time, especially against weaker opponents.

Forsberg is just too inconsistent to be a reliable backup in this league.
Like many goalies, he doesn't play well if he doesn't play enough games. His best year was when he got most of the starts. Also looks like lack of confidence as he's deep in his net, seems to be a tendency of goalies who are struggling.

Not happening with 1 line and Tim Stutzle.

Either Pinto and crew get going or you bring in more talent via trade.
