In like the early 2000s the Habs were so banged up and injured Sportscentre just put a bandaid over the logo routinely.

20 years later and the Habs are still often injured.

Rynbend was there in the early 2000s and here now. Hopefully this makes it so thet can diagnose injuries properly.

f***ing players coming back in a meaningless game when they're clearly injured is garbage.

People lose there jobs all the time after 20 years, players use to fight through injuries and now know better
It’s about keeping up with times. Sometimes competent people who were at one point at the top of their profession simply don’t keep up with the latest changes in their industry, be it technological or simply new ways of doing things. They are set in their ways that used to be the standard but are now outdated and behind the times.

This was the biggest problem with this team for the longest time - living in the past and not understanding that the things they did that brought past success unfortunately does not work anymore ( i.e having no analytics department, no skills coaches, not scouting certain regions, etc)

I know a group of guys who work for revenue canada, they do nothing all day and Golf at least 3 days a week "working from home", they all make about 100k per year. They literally do nothing and are completely useless.

Hopefully we get some competent people to replace these two. I don't know it, but there's definitely a good reason they were fired.
Sure but I also know dudes who work in IT who work from home and they get paid a lot for not doing much effort. Some write scripts that do 90% of their job while they **** off all day.

But I agree that taxpayers money is wasted on bureaucracy while workers on the front-line get shit conditions and salaries. I worked in the healthcare system as a janitor for a while and I spoke with a HR guy who told me that there were up to 6-7 bureaucrats for every 10 workers in our regional organization (CIUSSS), those actually taking care of people and literally having their hands full of shit (nurses, orderlies, etc.). And a lot of these bureaucrats are paid twice what these workers (mostly women with terrible schedules who rarely see their children come home from school because theyre doing mandatory overtime while the bureaucrats and managers do like 8 to 4 mon to fri and DON'T YOU BOTHER call when there's a problem). So yeah, there needs to be a major shake-up in our public services.

Edit : a thing that blew my mind while I was there was that in the nursing home (chsld) I worked at, there was 6 floors. Basement with the kitchen, hot and humid as hell, then the reception 1st floor, then 3 floors of rooms and finally the offices on last floor. Guess which was the only one with actual A/C. Yup.

That’s all great but when is Dr.Mulder getting fired? Isn’t he the one that needs to leave? That guy has been here since the league exist.

The US president in power the year before Mulder started with the Habs (as an assistant) was JFK…

I don’t think you fire someone at that age after so many years of service but hopefully we’ll get a “well deserved retirement” announcement soon.

I prefer fishing, gaming, running and brewing to golf.

He's still the doctor?

Holy crap.

He was ancient like 15 years ago
He might be just the figurehead now. The Habs have a team of physicians.

And the issue stems alot further than that.

Id love to know what the management found to reach this conclusion other than the blatantly obvious man games lost.
Not sure who makes the final decision for possible future franchise dman Guhle to play injured late in a lost season. Our season ended over two months ago so I assume Habs management did a careful analysis of the root of these decisions.

Dr. Mulder just woke up from his daytime slumber and is relieved to know he still has a job, here's to another century of leeching and alchemy expertise.

I had had no interest whatsoever in golf until about a year ago.

The game kicks my ass everytime and I keep going back for more asskickings.

I'm usually pretty good at learning sports and being decent enough at them, so it burns me to no end that I can't say the same about this damn golf thing.

I don’t know if that was on the staff. Apparently, a player has final say on whether he’s suitable enough to play and reports that I recall had Monahan insist on playing — he badly wanted to show Calgary that they made a mistake.

Looks like Calgary was right — no therapist or medic could have saved Monahan from himself last year.

However, there are other instances that must have pointed to the trainers in terms of responsibility.
Medical staff can shut player down. Up to them. Hughes is pissed, fired them. Cost him a first round pick. Played Monahan on broken foot, tweaked his skating style, which tore his groin, done for season.

Now, I know why Chantel changed on her transparent stance. She knew they had messed up, didn't want to throw her medical staff under the bus.

It was widely reported at the time that the final decision belonged to the player, so that's what I posted. Monahan apparently had insisted to play and since your post mentioned him as an example of staff responsibility, I thought he wasn't the best example.

I did say that in other instances their actions could have triggered responsibility and based on the decision taken to let go two prominent trainers, the Habs may have found enough evidence to this effect.

I have no idea how Macchabée is involved in this at all, I don't recall what she said or what she changed but whatever it was, she did not have the power to change whatever the accepted medical protocol was or is league-wide. My understanding is that there are situations where a player has final say and from what I recall, Monahan availed himself of that right.

Hughes fired them. Major move like that he has to be pissed. Had to be incompetence.

It's not my impression that Hughes works on the basis of anger. He comes off as someone who is cerebral and rational. I don't believe they were looking for scapegoats, there must have been a process behind this based on the standards of the profession.

I hope they got it right.

They won't fire Mulder, too much history and would likely piss off some alumnis. Maybe they can get him to retire though. He can even keep his seat.
