I think Igor is probably the most talented goalie in the league, but I simply don’t have any interest in signing a goalie who will be 29 and 9 months when his contract begins to an 8yr 12M contract. Tonight is proof that all you need is a starting goalie. Honestly, you could platoon Quick and Mrazek to a similar record for a combined 5M cap hit. We can’t sign him to the deal he wants. And we can’t let him walk. We have to cash the chip in. His value is immense.

Zibanejad has to go. He is a cancer at this point. His body language looks like the entire team is convincing him not to off himself with his skate blade between each shift. He can’t play through whatever is happening. If it’s not personal stuff and it’s just a decline in ability and accompanying depression due to that, then there is likely nothing to play through anyway. We should do anything in our power to move him. Retain 2M and attach a 1st. Anything is better than 6 more years.

Trouba, Lindgren, Miller… gotta go. Just atrocious. It’s baffling how bad they have been.

At that point, what IS the point of keeping Bread? He’s got one more year left and won’t be brought back. Retain 50% and cash in - I’m sure he’ll waive to go to a contender for 2 playoff runs. After next year he gets to pick his destination again.

No one else is untouchable at that point. Make the best moves you can to come back with an entirely different look next year. This group is cooked and needs to be dismantled. Not retooled. Not adjusted. Not tinkered with. Dismantled. Honestly, dismembered would be preferable.
We can pay 100% and add 5 first round picks. Mika goes nowhere unless Mika wants to. He must like NY, since he signed longterm and got a FULL NMC

That's another thing. f*** every coach. They're worse than goalies.
What @SnowblindNYR is to goalies, I am to coaches. f*** em all.

Lindgren’s dummy brother shot the puck into his own net in the capitals game, so at least for this evening we can say we didn’t have the worst Lindgren
its gonna be a pretty solemn thanksgiving table tomorrow at Ma and Pa Lindgren's

So we win the Cup next year? Promise?

I was born in 92. All I know about that year from anecdotes is that it fell apart after Leetch slipped on some black ice.
Leetch was hurt twice that year...both major injuries which probably shortened his career. The worse of the two actually came in St Louis where he lost an edge & went awkwardly into the boards. He suffered some nerve damage in his shoulder & was out for about 35 games. The trouble started way before that however...the team had a playoff hangover, there was unrest with Messier & the coach, plus the team was wildly inconsistent.

Neil Smith panicked, started trading kids away, but the death blow was trading Domi & Kris King for Eddie O but nobody realized it at the time. They were a huge part of the team's heartbeat.

Once Leetch broke his ankle in late February it was officially done...Mario embarrassed the team a week later with 5 goals at MSG & that was that.

I know that he has an NMC. But look at the guy… he needs a change of scenery just as badly as we need him gone. And if he won’t waive, I tell Lavi that Z sits or you’re fired. And if he sits the entire year and still won’t waive? Fine, come to camp next year rested and ready, or you’re getting sent home again. We can’t make you waive, but you’re no longer wanted or welcome. I know it will never happen in the NHL because there’s some sort of code against treating a player that way, but realistically, you make it so crystal clear to him that he won’t be welcome nor playing if he refuses to waive and if he’s content to have his career effectively be over at 31 than so be it. Literally paying him to stay home - at least for a few months right now to figure his shit out, IF that’s even possible - is still addition by subtraction. His attitude and effort affects the entire team. He needs to not be here.

We took the lead - had a pp and a chance to make it 4-2 … instead Carolina almost buried 2 SHG then proceeded to choke us to death in our zone for hours at a time.
We never pressed after 3-2 - we never got the puck deep in the 3rd and Michelletti went nuts about it .
Brutal

This. I'd just like to see one game where we're balls to the wall out the gate, and basically for the whole game. I still refuse to shit on our goalies when we play the whole game in our zone and f***ing get outshot night after night against good teams AND shit teams.

I’ll curse them all out on the first day and then crop dust the vet’s lockers on my way out of the room. But audibly. I want ‘em to know it was me, and my dominance (nor my flatulence) will not be questioned.

In other news to make you feel bad:
Berard now has as many 5v5 points as Kreider
Brodz has double the amount of 5v5 points as Kreider and only 1 less than Trocheck
Smith has many 5v5 points as Mika
