Said it in the GDT but repeating it here. Igor let his team down. I know defending hasn’t been great and there are mistakes but maybe if the guy wants to be the highest paid goalie in the league and insists he’s the best player on the team, maybe he can come up big and carry the team through this rough stretch? Instead of just being another guy? Be the difference maker your agent thinks you are?

No instead he ours us down in a 1-0 hole on a soft goals fine minutes in. Then his team rallied and gets us to 3-2 winning until ten minutes left in the third he gives up putrid wraparound goal. Im sorry, Igor let his team down. If we’re just going to justify goals against and get average goaltending with some hot streaks mixed in, why does he deserve 4m more than any other goalie? He doesn’t.

Igor isn’t Hank. It’s not about stats it’s about mentality. Hank was locked in for every second of every game. Igor is out to lunch way too much for a player of his caliber. Might be time for a visit from Allaire. I think we get Quick Friday

Said it earlier in the year Chytil is the key to the season and beyond. He does what pretty much no one on the team can do. Not to mention he gets his wingers going rather than dragging them down.
And I said last year it would be an absolute mistake to rely on him in any capacity based in his health history at this point. And here we are...

seafood xmas eve is a must. I convert if there isn't at least 4 different kinds (7 could be overkill)
I usually do linguini and clam sauce, and shrimp scampi. I dont have enough people to justify having all the seven fishes. I miss the days of my childhood going to my aunt's house with all my cousins who did the seven fishes every year. I wish I could do that now but it's just too much.

This kind of stuff happens when a team plays over their heads for a few years and then age catches up. Its like a boxer that has an amazing first round but punches himself out. I think Drury saw this coming. I do think some of our 30 year old guys will be moved. Maybe all of them but I would keep Bread.

I like him just fine. I don't want him making the money he thinks he deserves. If he wins us a cup, then start talking 12 million per and I'll think about it. I wish him the best of luck SOMEWHERE ELSE for that much.
I’m not gonna be the arbiter of what he deserves to make. But I would agree with what’s been said, the deal is probably done so people should probably come to grips with it lol

Why is Lindgren on this team? He got knocked down by the referee during a scrum in the 3rd. It’s gotten legitimately pathetic with him. Make-a-wish level stuff. Miller is a gutless floater who was getting beaten to the net by the Canes since the first seconds of the game. Trouba is Trouba.

Igor gifted Carolina 2 goals tonight but it’s impossible to win with this defense. A trade needs to happen or it’s going to be 60 more games like that.

I think Igor is probably the most talented goalie in the league, but I simply don’t have any interest in signing a goalie who will be 29 and 9 months when his contract begins to an 8yr 12M contract. Tonight is proof that all you need is a starting goalie. Honestly, you could platoon Quick and Mrazek to a similar record for a combined 5M cap hit. We can’t sign him to the deal he wants. And we can’t let him walk. We have to cash the chip in. His value is immense.

Zibanejad has to go. He is a cancer at this point. His body language looks like the entire team is convincing him not to off himself with his skate blade between each shift. He can’t play through whatever is happening. If it’s not personal stuff and it’s just a decline in ability and accompanying depression due to that, then there is likely nothing to play through anyway. We should do anything in our power to move him. Retain 2M and attach a 1st. Anything is better than 6 more years.

Trouba, Lindgren, Miller… gotta go. Just atrocious. It’s baffling how bad they have been.

At that point, what IS the point of keeping Bread? He’s got one more year left and won’t be brought back. Retain 50% and cash in - I’m sure he’ll waive to go to a contender for 2 playoff runs. After next year he gets to pick his destination again.

No one else is untouchable at that point. Make the best moves you can to come back with an entirely different look next year. This group is cooked and needs to be dismantled. Not retooled. Not adjusted. Not tinkered with. Dismantled. Honestly, dismembered would be preferable.

That first thing is the thing dampening my faith. He doesn't have a NMC. No NTC. No nothing. He didn't even have a contract this summer.

They made the clear-headed decision to bring him back and put him back around the neck of our best player.

Let us not forget that Henrik was prone to giving up soft goals at the wrong time as well. I remember seeing pages vilifying him for it (especially if we lost -- in particular, a 1-0 lost to Montreal in the playoffs comes to mind).
