This really kind of sux on a personal level. I have so much more respect for him now, after these PO's. Let's face it, WE all wanted something similar to happen during the entire season, but NOW that he had this excellent PO, we all wanted to KEEP him and with tears in our eyes? Ridding this cap hit, allows us to sign who we needed to sign (Shesty, etc.) this unfortunately is the RIGHT move.
Oh yeah, and we needed to make room for others in making the advancement to the NHL. With this happening, I can't see Wheeler being here next year either. Seems Drury wants out with the old and in with the new. Good or bad, we will see.

We all remember the big goals. He shot 40%. What a lot of fans don't remember is that beyond that, he was just as bad/worse at getting caved in. Goals matter. I won't pretend big goals aren't important, but again 40%...

His legs aren't there and we don't have a team of fast bottom 6 players to make up for it.

Exactly. We are not in a position where we can spend almost $4M in cap space for 4 goals a season.
