I loved Smile. Smile 2 is more of the same but didn’t really do anything too new imo. Suffers a bit because you already know going in what is going on and it felt a bit recycled to me.
The cold open set 6 days after the events of the first movie is wild though.
It’s still worth watching if you liked the first one, but doesn’t have the same novelty anymore which knocks a few points off for me. Good performance from the new protagonist.
I’m a big fan of Kyle Gallner (he plays the cop friend in the first one and is in this one too). I’d highly recommend Strange Darling for another horror/thriller which has him and came out a couple months ago. That movie is a hell of a ride. Recommend going in as blind as possible.
I don't think so, it's an original property. Might be based on a youtube short? A lot of horror movies these days are based on shorts, funnily enough. I have a 500+ youtube binge list of shorts I watch here and there. Some real gems too.
Yep based on a short film by the same director. It stars the woman from the beginning of the film who kicks it all off for the protagonist.
