Define decent. I definitely believe Thomson can become a NHL player but there’s still work to be done. Haven’t been pleased with his start to the season, way too error prone on and off the puck these first couple of weeks.

I haven't watched much BSens aside from some highlights but I really thought they'd be doing better defensively; on paper at least, Heatherington, JBD, Thomson, Larsson, Guinette and Rubbins seems like a pretty strong group.

I'd flip Kastelic back that line was dynamite. Gave the sens an identity. Gambrell fits the speed game of Joseph and Motte.

Under DJ smiths constant dump and chase I agree. But this line should have the puck less and need to get it less. I find debrincat extreeemely savvy on the forecheck tho. He’s always lifting sticks and stopping other teams breakouts. Dono about always but you know what I mean.

I also read Kelly was out and brassard was in.
 
So for the DJ defenders that said we need to give DJ 10 games with this group. Today is game 10, if we get pumped again, with zero back to backs, is it still too early to fire DJ? Maybe we need to give him 20 games instead? A quarter of the season to bury ourselves out of a playoff spot?

'DJ defenders' want to give a guy with massive turnover on the team 10 games how generous. Get a grip.

How many games should he have been given? 2? 5? That too much? Probably his fault batherson didn't score on the 2-0 as well.

It’s a good enough group but they all come with their deficiencies. The veterans of that group have struggled against speed from what I’ve seen. The younger guys are far from perfect too. The group of forwards aren’t very responsible, Goaltending is inconsistent too. AHL is a more chaotic game and that doesn’t play to everyone’s strengths but I don’t see an answer among that group.

The Canucks fired Travis Green after 26 games last season, and then had the 2nd best point percentage in the pacific division under their new coach (.649). They missed the playoffs because they had dug themselves too big a hole to get out of.

I assume you want the Sens to waste another season under a coach that isn't good enough I guess.

You are suggesting because someone wanted to give him 10 games that they are a defender of the coach. Thats what your original post said. Tell me how long your leash is? How many games? You do realize that they turned over a third of the roster. They are 4-5 and have had the lead or been tied in the 3rd period of 4 of the 5 loses. So no I dont think the coach should be fired yet.

I hate his usage of Zaitsev but thats really my only complaint. I think Chabot likely needs some tough love and serious coaching. Now if he isnt capable of that then maybe they need to look elseware.

Canucks were 8-16-2 through their first 26 last year.
Right now, we're 4-5.

Coming into the season, looking at our schedule, I expected a 4-6 start to the year. We're on track for that. A win tonight and we're better, which would be great.

The next 10 games are softer, though. We need to go 7-3 or 6-4 at worst to stay in the hunt. Anything worse than that and I agree, move on from DJ.

Ya , what is it, 3 games where we gave up a go ahead goal in the last 2-3 minutes.
 
Just want to say I suggested these new top-6 lines a while ago and that I wouldn't be surprised if we looked much better overall as a result now that DJ is listening to me. :sarcasm:

If 4 of those loses were in overtime people would be over the moon with the start. The team would be 4-1-4. It was that close. They gotta find a way to get to o.t and collect those loser points.
