PS. I laughed at your burn when I opened this Thread btw.

Canada is the favorite, no doot aboot it. That said, the U.S. has a shot. The biggest challenge will be the more finesse oriented U.S. d-men handling the pressure of the Canadian forecheck. I don't know if Knight will need stand on his head per se but he'll need to be on point. Would love to see Caufield go out with a bang.

From what I've seen, any time Team Canada turns the dial to 100%, other teams don't have an answer.

I believe the same will happen in the final.

The best way for USA to pull off the upset is to grab that first goal. It might be the only way to shock the Canadian players and get them to tense up a bit.

First 10 minutes will be key. Russia was already done at that point.

I just hope it's a good game. These one sided Canadian wins are so boring that I haven't even watched most of the games.

As a Canadian, there is so much to like :

1) The forecheck - it is relentless and highly effective;
2) The 5x5 offensive - all the players are terrific. If we can get the powerplay to click, we will win in a walk;
3) The defense - it's the best in the tournament by a wide margin;
4) Devon Levi - what a Cinderella story;
5) The confidence - I haven't seen a Canadian team this sure of itself since 2005.

I won't watch the game (too hard on the ticker) but hopefully Canada will bring home a 2nd Gold in as many years (with 2 more to come) and I can watch the replay after midnight.

Well said.

As Jack Slater said, Canada's forecheck could rattle the U.S.'s weaker D.

The U.S.'s offense doesn't worry me. If we can stay out of the box, we'll be fine.

I also think our goaltending is better - Levi looks dialed in and on a mission.

I'm a coward so I won't watch, but it's difficult to see us losing. Not impossible, of course, but difficult.

Obviously anything can happen in a single game elimination between two good teams, but I think Canada are *massive* favorites. By and large I thought the U.S. was out played 5 on 5 for large stretches against Russia and Finland, and well Canada was on another level against both of them.

I would love to say USA wins and they might. With that said I don’t know how I pick against Canada.

That said, I fully expect this to be another classic Canada-USA game

And Canada has excelled 5 on 5.
