GDT: Gold Medal Game - May 20 - Sweden vs Switzerland

Pressure but no chances. The first goal wasn't even a chance. Just a great shot from Nyquist. Sweden created about 2-3 real chances in 40mins. I'd be pissed if I were you. Switzerland should be ahead by now. You're lucky they failed to convert on some of their breakaways.
 
Great game.................I am gonna put off watching anything of the jets game until this one is completed or possibly get`s out of hand(possible with the way sweden has been coming on so strong)

If I am a swiss fan I am still pretty happy, they got out of this period tied and that was crucial. On the other hand I would be concerned, just how much does the team have left in the tank for the 3rd.

I suspect we will discover the answer to that question pretty quickly.
 
The Swiss are hanging on and are still fairly dangerous on the counter, but this really is Sweden's game to lose now. I'm going to be very impressed if Switzerland can pull a win here.

The swedes are insanely fresh. How is this possible?

The third will be very difficult for us. Sweden game is beautiful to watch.

Sweden has had way more than 2-3 chances.

He said a few months ago that nobody is interested in him but that he doesn't want to play in the NHL anyway. He doesn't have the option in his contract to leave Bern for the NHL so I think he's gonna stay for now.
 
I fear the Swiss will be so tired in the last periode, you could just have well have dressed up "my Norway" in their uniforms, and no-one would have noticed the difference. Sweden will rule third periode. But it was a good game, Swiss. Good try.

Do we agree Switzerland is a top-six nation now, instead of -perhaps- Czech republic?

Yes, been saying this for a while now. They have gotten pretty good at both Hockey and Soccer.

That's exactly how you beat a team that has 5 guys in front of the goalie, cycle and cycle until they have to draw a penalty or open up.
 
So much saltyness in this thread to team Sweden ... its a good game im woundering if Switzerland can keep the speed up if they can i have them as favorit to win the gold 60% to Sweden 40%

Which ones and when exactly? They had the puck a lot but did zero with it. Very boring. The only exciting action are the Swiss breakaways.

Shut out the Slovaks, only lost to Russia by a goal and it took a shootout for the Czechs to beat them as well. This team is no joke.
