A lot times, the guys putting these teams together outsmart themselves with the grit n' grind and putting together "the right guys."

There's a reason they made a movie about 1980. The best roster usually wins.
Yup.

When it comes to all star games or tournaments, people over analyze it. In short high tempo games, it better to skew to firepower talent and best goalies you can find than trying to do Rob Zamuner experiments in the Olympics or trying to grind down opponents thinking this is a 16-win needed Stanley Cup playoffs playing tons of 7 game series.

The teams can pick whomever they want. Traditional rosters are limited by budgets too so teams cant have 20 all stars at $10M each. But in global tournaments you can do that.

I disagree. Canada had some glaring omissions and it isn’t hindsight. There was head scratchers pre tournament
We can agree to disagree. Congrats on the Gold Medal.

They did. They even showed a few minutes of credits.

But when Sportsdesk started, the went back to the panel.
Okay, all I know is I didn't get any credits and the panel was still talking.

Would you like a tissue? I take it you haven't been paying attention the past 15 years as this song gets sung after every gold medal victory at all USA Hockey levels..
No thank you, but I do appreciate the offer.

I just think it's a bit over the top, that's all.

Congrats on the Gold Medal.

How did Canada do again?
No medals the past two years.
Are we seriously playing this game again? Another one of you're fans tried this....didn't work out great. I've been nothing cordial but chirping about not getting a medal in two years is weak. Sorry edog but Canada has more gold medals then the USA has medals combined.

The nations cup is a must win now. As is the 26 olympics
I think USA winning gold will make it fun to watch. Can't wait.

I think the US team should be favourites.

A fact not talked about with this American team is the backend had Hutson & Buium on seperate pairings and both turn on a dime, have wicked vision & do not just give the puck away for nothing.I thought those 2 were huge for Americans.Felt like one was always out there controlling things.
Yea, this is a really good point. They were able to control the game from about midway through the 2nd.

Makes Canada leaving Parekh off a real head scratcher (or maybe a learning exp future tourneys)
