You call a stupid decision by a player a coaching fail?

Don't forget the World Juniors final 2011 when Canada had a 3-0 lead and lost to Russia 3-5. Tarasenko was a big part of that team. So you should never count out the Russians.

Canada dominated that game those first two periods just like this game. You never know.

Let's be fair here, how many times have we seen Canadian players take idiotic retaliation penalties? Like.. virtually every NHL game. I agree that this actual Russian team has not played smart though. Dumb play from Belov. Malkin's had a bevy of undisciplined plays like you can usually expect when he's frustrated.

It's so sketchy though. USA got a goal today with a player in the crease and they counted it. It's too tough to call consistently.

Yes I definitely see that and it would be much more difficult in the NHL with smaller ice surface.

Difference though is these guys are all older. Part of the WJC appeal is the fact thats its emotional teenagers. Could happen, but dont see guys like Crosby, Spezza, Giroux, Hamhuis letting guys get complacent
