I have to say Canada did NOT deserve to win that game... they had what, 4 shots in the 3rd? Russians just kept bringing it but it wasn't enough for Canada's defense

Congratulations to Canada. Other than suffering a goaltending meltdown, Russia played very well in an exciting game that was in doubt right to the end. The turning point for Russia was when the entire Russian team literally left the ice on a line change, leaving McDavid all alone to easily walk in on goal. Russian fans can be proud that the team stood toe-to-toe throughout the entire match.

For Canada, most of the credit should go to the crowd. The crowd had the Canadians playing at a level of emotional frenzy that they would never be able to show if they were playing in Helsinki or Vienna. They kind of ran out of emotion, but they had enough left to hang on at the end. Great game for both teams

Russia fan here but congratulations Canada. The best team in the tournament and deserving of the Gold. People in Canada are crazy mad for this tournament and love Ice Hockey, so I am happy to see their fans have some joy from this tournament once again.

I had this Russia team projected to make the final and they played some good Hockey against Sweden and Canada. I gave them no hope as this was the first Canada side in years that I agreed with the hype they had. When Russia went down 1-5 it was great to see the fight. One thing this new generation of Russian kids (Born in the early 90's) they are true fighters and patriots of Russia. Unlike earlier generations.
