Russian game plan is to act all Russian and piss the Canadians off until they get off their game. I hope Canada can keep playing with discipline

Canada's just gotta settle down and start making their passes. Passing was atrocious for the 2nd half of that period.

This was like watching every other World Junior game in fast-forward.

This game is wired - the intensity level is insane.

Though Canada is leading, the first period leaves more positive than negative impression. Russia can struggle for the medals.

And of course, the game itself is very intense and entertaining. I don't regret not sleeping till 6 am to watch it

Great period after what seemed like the most conservatively played WJC ever. Every team was sticking to the system and making the safe plays, it's the right way to win but not the most exciting.

Now we have a more open game that's more fun to watch

I think both teams are so fast that gap control is almost impossible.
