Hellyebuck showing some late season mortality. Wonder if he's getting tired?
It is very possible he's getting tired. He seems to have one of the heaviest workloads, if not the heaviest workload every year. Between him and Vasilevskiy and maybe Saros. And then you gotta figure he played I think 3 of the 4 games for Team USA at the four nations.

But I also do believe there is some luck involved at the position and Hellebuyck may have been due for a stretch like this after playing out of this world for so long.

Whether fatigue or just luck of the draw, hopefully one of those two affects him when we have to go up against the Jets again in Winnipeg coming up shortly here.

Or maybe they'll just throw in Comrie and he'll shut us out?

At least Blackwood and Wedgewood are on the same team now. Only one can play NJ at a time.

Softy of the night is this Steven Lorentz goal on Mackenzie Blackwood

Both the Canadian and American broadcasts didn’t seem to like this goal. Weird referee interference bounce aside. Brian Boucher said he was deep in his net.

I'd be pissed if I were Colorado.

But that's also a bar down rip.

Normally this goal would not be softy of the night, but there were only 6 non-empty netters and only two goals I counted stoppable. And the one on Grubauer was really a little less softy of the night caliber than this one, which also wasn’t really softy of the night caliber, but unless I count zero goals stoppable (which has happened on two game nights) then I give a softy of the night. And sometimes they aren’t really deserving of a softy of the night.

Thought he was pretty deep in his net there and it was from a bit out.

I’m glad at least Brian Boucher (former goalie) and whoever the guy is on the Canadian broadcast also critiqued him on this goal, because I knew this was probably going to be a controversial softy of the night, due to it being a goalie I really don’t like (who is having a good season but I still don’t believe in him long term) and the fact that it wasn’t really that bad of a goal.
