How long can Blackwood keep this up? He’s rolling right now.
Marky deserved a much better result. He was fantastic. That Bratt goal on Igor was pretty bad to my eyes. Hopefully NJ can score a few goals at some point to support Markstrom.January 9th, 2025

I gave Igor off for the first goal because he turned the puck over and his team never regained possession before he was scored on. I didn’t even notice that at first in-game. When a goalie turns the puck over and it causes a goal, even if he has no chance on the actual shot and the way it went in, I give him a stoppable goal for it.Marky deserved a much better result. I still think it's probably just a career year. His first good one in quite a while. Last year he was okay. If anything maybe I'd attribute that to getting away from Rogalski. Somehow Colorado was able to make a broken down Francouz who was missing an arm and a leg and part of his hand look good, at least when he was actually able to get out of the hospital and onto the ice.Since overcoming his multiple seasons of injuries guess who is really a .920 goalie?
I agree it’s not likely to last the next five years but I sort of expected a laughing emoji response or a rant I could selectively cut and paste. This has been a great stretch for him but it’s Blackwood. At some point he will implode.I still think it's probably just a career year. His first good one in quite a while. Last year he was okay. Blackwood is a .919% on hockey reference and a .920% on NHL.com, which leads me to my next rant.
I don't agree with the NHL deciding this year to not recognize an own goal as a goal against a goalie. I'm not sure why they decided to do that this year, and with no explanation, at least none that I've seen.
It's not gonna really affect stats a whole lot, but it's just weird. I don't understand why they decided to do it. There was no formal announcement that they were going to start doing things that way. And if there was it was really quiet and really went under everyone's radar.
