Softy of the night is this Jiri Kulich goal on Jordan Binnington



@sabremike I agree with you on further review. You were right. My only access to this goal before the full game highlights were up was the stupid 10 second clip the NHL app gives you, with no replay. I thought this had gone between the goalie and the post. But where it went 5-hole I definitely give these softy of the night.

I was about to give it to Pickard for one that wasn’t from as dead of an angle, but upon seeing this actually went 5-hole and not between the goalie and the post or some little piece of daylight, I thought this is definitely the softy of the night.

Benson is tapping his stick behind Kulich on the rush. Now…he’s a shoot always guy…but I wonder if he’s hearing the taps and thinking…yeah ok…wait…why is Binnington standing like that? He’s just going to leave the whole bottom of the net open? Ok…

Kulich is far enough in by the time he releases that he should have been stapled to the post cutting off the angle. I guess he was watching Benson for the drop pass…but that doesn’t mean you have to invite a better shooter than Benson to rip one through you.

This was hilariously bad. They say it went off the Flyers defender’s shinpad. I think it’s just that Kolosov missed an easy one. It wasn’t even a good shot.

It’s easy to see why the Flyers have the worst goalie numbers in the league. Don’t worry! They still have a slightly greater than 50% chance to make the playoffs on moneypuck!
