Goalies in the wrong colors

Ya sure if you want though the various equipment companies give the goalies what 3-4 pairs per year? Price alone has that many in different styles. Some he tries in practice and never uses in games.

...but if you change teams, just the plain white?

What, too soon? :sarcasm:

Useless info about the Roloson pic: he had a set of Oilers pads for months but didn't wear them because he was playing great in his Minnesota set. He also hated breaking in new equipment, so Ty Conklin was doing it for him in practice and was actually wearing Roloson's new gear when the screw up late in Game 1 against Carolina happened.

True story... I ended up with a "pro-returns" TPS blocker with Conklin etched on it. It couldn't have been the same set he wore that game, but he didn't actually play for the Oilers after that, so... suppose that's why I was able to get it on eBay.

It (not me, it) let in a lot of 7-hole goals, so I eventually replaced it and gave it to my nephew for street hockey. Figured that's a higher level of play than it's original owner. ;)

So.....do you have to paint, or re-upholster the pads, I can't imagine brand new?

My 14 year old self will tell you painting doesn't work so well.... comes off on the ice.

Some cheap pads have replacement color-stickies, but the pro's have several new sets per year, so they just replace.

Thomas changed gear alot with Florida. If you Google Image 'Tim Thomas Panthers' you'll see him with Warrior, CCM, Vaugh and Reebok pads....

Also, he apparently used a Graf stick at one point (didn't even know they made sticks) and unmarked pads at one point.

Pads don’t match up. It’s Dwayne Roloson with his Minnesota pads. The gold matches up their old jersey and you can see the TPS being Wild green.

Uh oh. I’m getting old . I couldn’t tell the TPS was green by looking at it originally and the gold matches to me …. Only when you say that it is does my brain and old eyes realize it is green . I think it is time for reading glasses
I had to look at that picture for a while to be convinced the bits on the pads are green. His blocker had the right shade of blue:

He must have had 30 different looks when he was on the Bruins. There was one season where it seemed like he had new equipment every five games.
