In this season the quality was already showing signs of decline, but the season overall was still OK.

The newer seasons seem to rely WAY too much on trendy parodies and dumb toilet humor, coupled of most characters acting more and more emphatic of their normal behaviors.

My favorite episode has to be Mother Simpson, when Homer's mom Mona first returned. 2nd favorite is probably You Only Move Twice, because I LOVE Hank Scorpio.

"By the way Homer, what's your LEAST favorite country? Italy, or France?"
:naughty:

"France."
:sarcasm:

"Haha...nobody ever says Italy."

Hank Scorpio episode was great. One of my favs too.

I really need to do a rewatch soon.

Hank Scorpio was actually a REALLY nice boss. Dude basically used his (evil world conquering) corporation's cash to buy and rebuild a whole town for all his employees, gave them free health care, free housing, free education, and a bunch of cutting edge technologies to better their own lives. He also, on a very personal level, cared deeply for those who work for him, genuinely wanted what's best for them, even if doing so was to his own detriment.

A true class act, through and through.

I just searched it up not knowing what it meant.

Lmfao reminds me of when I was a kid and I’d put my crotch on those pool jets in swimming pools and just stay in this floating state of bobbing my head just above water and staying in that position until I got tired. Just bobbing up and down facing toward the deck all day.

I’m pretty sure every single adult knew what I was doing. Every time I hopped in thats whered you’d find me. Facing the deck with my crotch on the Jet nozzle.
bro you couldn't waterboard this info outta me

If Lindholm is in tomorrow, where do you think he'll be slotted in? I presume between Podkolzin and Mikheyev?

That's what I'd expect. Blueger replaces Aman with Suter and Lafferty.

I’d sit out Lindholm until Saturday too. If it’s a soft tissue injury then there’s no downside to being extra cautious.

Also something to say for giving him a game to get his legs and timing before a big game vs EDM. If he's ready, plqy him. If he's not, rest him until he is.

Mikheyev-Lindholm-Podkolzin

Time for a redemption tour!

And he knew all the best places to buy hammocks.

goalie controversry before the playoffs. never change vancouver. silovs desmith. tocchet says he might carry 3 goalies into the playoffs. abbotsford is in the playoffs as well. do you send silovs down and go with desmith and demko?

Dont know if its a controversy really. DeSmith will be the backup and Silovs will play in the Abbotsford playoffs. This isnt a Schneider situation, outside of injury I dont think we see any goalie other than Demko in the playoffs. If we lose a game by 10 goals, you will see DeSmith in the third, but Demko back in the game after.

If we DID need a tandem then Silovs would be my guy but that isnt the situation we are in.

With Brock and JTM reaching their milestones last night, not much to cheer for as far as individual stats go. Guess I'd still like to see:

EP reach 90 points (currently at 87)
Hronek reach 50 points (currently at 48)
Garland reach 20 goals (currently at 18 -- which is kinda impressive considering how he couldn't buy a goal early in the season).

For the team:
Get the 2 points to help ensure we take the division.
Score at least one PP goal.
Be successful on at least 75% of penalty kills (low bar, but might be overly optimistic with the absolute garbage that has been our PK of late).
Our pk skaters have been fine since Demko got hurt, CDS on the other hand and Silovs last night have been gross. Before Demko got hurt we were up to 81% which would be around 11th and ranked higher than our pp (13th before last night) now 11th

Honestly CDS since around January has given me last season vibes on the PK and lack of the "big save" and has triggered PTSD. I will never again say one bad word about Demko, who I kind of took for granted. It's not even that he's allowed a ton of goals, 23 in 9 games but most of those games we hardly surrended any shots and there was a ton of bad and back breaking goals, especially his last two starts. Both those games we were the better team and every time we would score and get back in the game he would let in a bad goal immediately after.
Silovs OTOH, made the big saves at 2-0 , 3-1 and slammed the door shut once we got the lead.
I feel bad trashing him since he's such a nice dude but an 890sv% behind the 2nd best defensive team since late January is unacceptable.
I dunno maybe I'm just being an asshole?

God i hope not. If they put a team there, the name is going to have something to do with bees (state insect). SLC Swarm. they'll call the arena "the hive". things were really buzzing at the hive tonight, but the visiting Vancouver team left with all the honey.....
Lots of mocks out there using that premise, along with Grizzlies, miners, I think prospectors has a nice ring to it. Utah has a lot of great names they can pull from. I hope they get a team, they might not be the sexy choice like Houston and Atlanta who I think would get actual expansion teams because they are massive markets but SLC would be the obvious choice for relocation since they have an owner who already has an arena suitable for hockey and since he owns the jazz the logistics would be painless.

With the news that the mayor of Scottsdale will do everything in his power to stop the yotes owner from building an arena on the land up for auction and the fact that Mureno is now looking at buyers for the team, it's pretty much inevitable that they will be moved.
There's even a rumour that if that happens Mureno if he can in the future secure a home in Phoenix would be granted an expansion team if Atlanta is granted a team. But short-term they can't continue at mullet arena, ffs they use benches for half their seats in my best Stewie voice, "what are we in Iraq? 😅
Personally I think Houston and Atlanta should be granted expansion teams. Two separate and very serious groups are trying in Atlanta and bad owners and location is very likely the reason it failed last time. Houston imo would be such a massive success since Texans are probably the best sporting fans in the world and the market is massive. Seriously everyone needs to watch a stars game in person it will blow you away.

Not surprising that all these southern markets have embraced hockey considering not only their love of sports but the south is wild and love rough and tumble type stuff.
I played college baseball at an SEC school (LSU) in the late 90's and I remember thinking to myself how much these crazed, passionate, rowdy, drunk, belligerent, gun toting conservative and loyal fans would love hockey. I've to this day never seen better sports fans than southerners and like watching a stars game, seeing an SEC game, especially football live should be on any hardcore sports fans bucket list. It's friggin nuts.

Elias Lindholm is back tonight wohoo.

Demko is back practicing. Things are lining up perfectly for the playoffs which is amazing.

Maintenance days for Hughes, Miller, Boeser and Pettersson. Everybody a little banged up at this time of the year.

Would be bonkers to carry three goalies, unless Demko's health remains in question, which isn't good. Silovs will be backup next year, should let him start for Abby.
