Seeing some Travis Green habits this game which is alarming. Giving up the blueline with ease.

The Matheson hit stole Pettersson's star powers. All of a sudden Matheson is a 52 point defenseman lol.
52 point playing a shit load of minutes and pp1 time, play him 2nd pairing and pp2 and he's right back to 35-ish.

I’ve found myself posting the exact same thing multiple times over this season: this team is completely different when Petey is going. Which has not been very consistent or often.

Let's use PPG since that metric is favorable to players who miss a lot of games.

Since joining the Canucks, Miller is 14th in PPG, league wide.

Eichel is 30th during that same time period.

(In raw numbers, Miller is 10th in actual scoring during that time period, while Eichel is 92nd).

Eichel's best finish was 10th in league scoring, while Miller's best finish was 9th. Miller is also 9th in scoring again this season.

What Eichel did last season in the playoffs was great. He also did it on a team that was significantly over the Cap. And he was outplayed by Marchessault, who won the Conn Smythe. That doesn't put him above Miller's superior body of work in my eyes.

I say that knowing the numbers. My point about injuries is not just that he’s missed games it’s that he’s played a lot while not fully healthy. And Ive never thought Pettersson and Miller are quite as good as their production suggests. It’s clear watching all three that he can play on their level imo.
