I sometimes remind myself that this team has way overachieved . They weren't supposed to make the playoffs let alone be on top of the league all year. They were never contenders this season and were playing over their heads. Still a good season and team but weren't the contenders that for some reason people started to consider then.

Said for awhile that we need to adjust our expectations for this team. Realistically they’re 3rd in the division and fighting for a wildcard spot. Likely out in 5-6 in the first round. If you had offered me that at the start of the season I’d have taken it.

I don't think this team is winning the cup this season, guise.

Honestly anything can happen. Yea we look like we suck today but remember 5-0 against the Peg? That wasn’t that long ago.

If Demko comes back and gets hot who knows. I remember that shitty Arizona team get absolutely carried by Smith to the conference finals.

Anyway, I used to be one of the biggest negative posters during the Benning era. But with this group I’m a changed man. I don’t know, after alll the suck years I’m just happy we debate about line combinations now instead of how shitty it all is.

All in all, I’m happy with the team this year whatever happens.

The problem is that our window is now.

With our cap situation and very middle-of-the-pack prospect pool, we can't expect seasons like this to come along every year.

Miller and Hughes are having the best seasons of their career. There's no guarantee they get better or even maintain this level moving forward.

So if we flop this season, it's not like we should feel confident that we'll be better next season.

This year could be our best chance for a long, long time.

Probably should just go back to the original lineup and see if it works, ie. Miller-Boeser, Pettersson-Hoglander and old third line.

Well they won't win this year. You don't go from a decade of garbage to SC over night

If American based teams were getting that level of reffing against there would be a senate investigation its beyond mistakes its on purpose .
Wish we had balls to let every Canadian team play in an empty arena one week force that little f..k weasel Buttman to answer

True, but the leap we took this year was also quite unprecedented.

Not expecting a Cup, but with the way this team has looked this season, winning at least one round should be expected and winning a second round is within the realm of possibility.
