I’ll bring it to the council. The last few GDTs have gone beyond 1000 posts.

I'm just going to pretend Gear knows exactly what he's doing and every time he does this it's a shot at Benning/Weisbrod
But it's really not.

I cant stand co workers blaming the higher ups for being lazy. Like i'm sure he wasn't able to seek out video himself?

Straight up this in an indictment of all the scouting staff and i would say lower levels of management for doing a shit job in this day and age.

Should be game reports with video of every player under contract

This reminds me of reading the old canucks programs with a page listed for Canucks employees - Harry Neale, Darcy Rota, etc.

Then, 10 years later, reading a Sharks program with five pages of employees with 2 or 3 of them dedicated to Marketing.

He is definitely taking shots at the group he had to endure for years and pretty much got him fired from the industry.

I wasn't directing it specifically at Gear but he's the one complaining about it and saying they used Faber's stuff.

How about take your lawyer ass and make a few calls to get some people working on it.

Unless this was tabled and then turned down (which would not surprise me) he's making the entire staff look bad

i mean that's not how it works in a hierarchical workplace like the canucks under benning. you stay in your lane or you get forced out. there's lots to criticize gear for but doing a worse job than faber at digging up video of prospects isn't one of them

lol, so many people critical of every little thing. So they use outside sources to gather video on prospects in Russia and Europe. I would imagine lots of teams do it, not only the Canucks.

Yeah like I said "pretend", just a joke.

Gear has no self-awareness and it's funny but it's not like we need more proof of previous management's incompetence.

I'm not sure about that.

Gear lol

The fact that 28% of NHLers are from Europe and you're making a blanket statement about the incompetence of this is pretty comical.

"teams generally" ....lol (2014-2022 Never forget)

This is outright embarassing. The fact that a nearly 2 billion dollar organization were relying on some guy on his computer in the middle of buttf*** nowhere BC for European footage/scouting reports is mind boggling.

It depends .. how much they used it versus relied on it.

He's referring to Cole banging the Carolina rinkside reporter and ending both their marriages (which is pretty well documented) and not the unsubstantiated grooming allegations from the start of last year which seem like they were BS.
KK my bad. I wasn’t aware of that. Carry on then. I am curious who Brandon Walsh and David Silver are screwing these days.

Thomas Gradin is at the top of list of our scouts. I would be surprised if he didn't at least talk to Sundstrum once in a while. I imagine Marcus works for us too doesn't he?

Do we have any more guys in Czechlandia? We've been drafting Russians that others haven't considered so who do we have scouting there?

These 'first game back from a long road trip' are always hard to predict..The Canucks had a fairly dominant game against Nashville, hope they build off of that.

There's also the distinct possibility of them delivering a clunker as well.
A few days of feeling good about themselves could be a negative but the schedule maker has made there first games much easier on them. Lot's of rest between games.
AND
A "scheduled win" StL played last night so 2nd in two with travel.

Goalies have been standing on their heads so far.

I am very, very cautiously optimistic. They took years to destroy any faith in the team. Even now how much is because they are good compared to how bad some teams have been?

StL has everything against them tonight, so they win.

So Teddy Blueger is finally back skating, although not ready to suit up for a game. Another 'injury report' that went from to day-to-day, week-to-week the then five games into the season and still no real answers.

But I suppose it fits right in with reports in the spring that Mikheyev would be raring to go at the start of training camp. And he finally got some game action three games into the season. So who knows how long Podz will be on the shelf in Abbotsford. Oh well.

Not really into Sports Action betting ,but if I was, I'd take Hoglander for a goal and an assist tonight against the Blues. Would probably be a nice payout.

Benning fired a bunch of front office staff. Gear was responsible for contract language. Although Benning did most of the negotiating which was basically "What do you want?"
Remember the talk f the time was if you didn't agree with Benning or Weisbrod you were gone. Good people got the boot. Brackett, Tortorella, Sullivan, Gilman and others as well.
Gear was the chief financial officer. So his observations carry weight, he was there. No fan should be showing how much a dupe they are by discounting his comments about how the front office was operated.

Seems like the Blues are a weird team that just try’s when it feels like. Hopefully this game isn’t one of the times they feel like trying.
