That was a shitkicking. The first 30 minutes were the most dominant Canuck performance since the Presidents Trophy years. Shots 28-7 in a 4-0 game halfway though. Shot attempts were 35-4 at one point.

Got a little sloppy in the 3rd but that was one hell of a statement game.

Hughes, Hronek, Miller in particular were massive. Demko rock solid. Nobody was bad.

If the PP could have clicked this could have been 7-0 or 8-0 and deservedly so.
Loved that scrum where every one had a guy and miller had no helmut and just looking around nobody grabbed him

Canucks with much more purpose and direction in this one. Really the whole Tocchet era, to date, has been one of consistent development and more wins than losses. Lot of the goals come off playing good defense and sound neutral play rather than giving up defense to score.

Good - many good efforts. Thought the best of them were:

Hughes - nothing to add - play says it all.

Miller - I'd put him in the top dozen players in the League at present

Hronek - sort of Mississippi gambler and tries to make scary plays, at times, but overall he was excellent in every zone. Management seems to have made an excellent read on this player.

Di Guiseppe - the most surprising thing about this player (other than how he's come from almost nowhere) is the speed he exhibits on the forecheck. Got pressure on the Blues all game and nice touch on his goal.

Demko - made very good saves at critical parts of the game and thus didn't allow Blues get any momentum going. Rebound control was first rate - just enveloped the shots

Others

Friedman - best game so far. Puck movement from the back was actually good and demonstrated a good turn of speed in shutting down St. Louis's rushes.

Myers - can always find fault but he was steady enough thru most of it.

Garland - might be the best on the team in breaking up plays coming out of the other teams defensive end and thru the neutral zone. Love the energy even if he isn't putting up much in the way of points. Unless I get a very good offer, I'm for keeping Garland

Beauvillier - evenly spaced ice time and Beuvillier got his fair share. However, I'd say he is the player most underplaying his salary. Just can't seem to get to the net or pounce on chances. Not bad in the general flow but you can get a lot cheaper and more physical player doing what he's doing. Unless he can start producing points don't see him getting re-signed.

Hoglander - every game the other team is after him. Making himself a pest and working decently on his line.

The only aspect of this game you could criticize was the PP. I don't think Pettersson is working it as well as in the past and Boeser needs to do better with his chances. Otherwise this was excellent effort by the team.

Pretty clean game from the boys. Clinically dismantled the Blues that had nothing to give, not even a glove punch or water bottle from Binnington. Not much of a tough battle so they should have more energy for a B2B than normal.

PP needs to be better, but hasn't had much practice. Kudos to Tocc for massaging the media and helping us get some calls.

Modest zone time from the Pettersson line, but some slick chemistry. Got more than a few scoring chances. Surprising how many goals Mikheyev scores when his shot doesn't look that impressive.

Miller line was dominant on the forecheck. Just hemmed the Blues in for eternity. Miller was a monster, in for 3 goals and flying in to defend Hoglander.

Not bad for the Suter line; Garland got more open ice than anytime recent, unlucky to not get more scoring chances. Suter should have gotten a goal too. Quiet but hardworking game by Joshua.

Really like the energy from Lafferty and Hoglander, took the lazy Blues by surprise. Beau needs someone to remind him it's a contract year.

Good game by all the D, even Myers who was tough along the walls. Monster game from the Hughes-Hronek and Cole-Friedman pairs. Two games in a row though, with Soucy dealing some lazy zone clears.

Not much work for Demmer but spectacular when needed. This was the Philly game for the Blues, but even so I don't see a playoff team out of them. No game breakers, saved by goaltending so far.
Crazy how fast the 2019 SC champ got dissembled

Obviously season still young but
It’s funny seeing some opposing fans (mostly oilers fans) saying that we usually fade later in the season

No, it’s been the opposite the past couple years, we started terrible and didnt start playing until the calendar turns when it’s too late
Standard explanations when being disappointed with your start.

Why so angry?

Canucks fans can’t be happy that teams off to their best start in years?
yeah not quite sure what bugging him ...

Two games so far on home ice Canucks have outscored their opponents 13-1. Been a long time since the Canucks so thoroughly dominated a Blues teams like they did tonight.

This team really does have dynamic offense--and it all starts with Hughes on the back-end. Such an asset on breakouts and in generating odd-man rushes. Canucks could easily have scored another four or five goals in this one.

Next up the Rangers who I think will be tough but I’m not worried if we play like that. I don’t think the entirety of the result was a tired St Louis team, Canucks just look poised
The craziest part is Petey hasn’t even activated yet!!
Rangers are already in town with nothing to do on a Friday night. I'm feeling a little "Roxy Flu" coming on.
