What parts?

Like I said, you could quibble with the "did a nice job" part. I maintain that the refs weren't close to the reason why this series ended the way it did, and while they might not have been perfect/good, however you want to grade them, I didn't think they were anywhere near as bad as they have been in the past.

The Bruins handed this series away. Not the refs, they weren't beaten by a better team that was motivated by whatever. The Bruins gave this series away. That's the story line to me.

No, you can't even "quibble" with it. Saying the refs did a nice job in this series is absurd. I actually think a lot of his other points were right on. But saying the refs did a nice job? UGH! I know you're entitled to your opinion about it, but I just don't see how anyone can look at the way the games were called, and say it wasn't as bad as it was in the past. It's worse than it's ever been! You have a right to your opinion, but I certainly don't agree with it.

None of that changes the fact that you are absolutely right about the Bruins handing the series away. That's why I'm not even all that upset. They didn't bury any of the multitude of chances they had, and it bit them in the butt.

Well, for what it's worth, this was a 7th game against a hated opponent, but you'd never know it from the way the Bruins played the first half of the game. Blaming the refs for a team's shortcomings is just a smoke screen. I saw something over the course of the first half of the game and stopped watching the game when the Habs made it 2-0. I have NEVER given up on this team in all the years I've been watching them until last night. I hope something changes over the off-season so that the fierce drive to win playoff games returns.
^This...I was there so didn't have the chance to turn off the game (I would never leave a playoff game early), but knew it was OVAH as soon as the Habs scored the first goal...shoulders were slumped and body language on B's bench was grim. Pierre (like him or hate him) on WEEI this morning said other than Claude and coaching staff and Thorty, the bench was pretty much silent during rest of first period, which says something about the rest of the veteran leadership group. By no means should the organization "blow it up." Getting Seids back will make a huge difference, still wish PC had gone all out for Vanek at deadline. Chia pretty much tipped his hand about Thornton coming back at the break up presser today (time has moved on, league has changed, etc), all but rolled his eyes....still seems to me you need the leadership...and he would probably take a one year deal...going to be a long summer (hope everyone here and those in uniform use the time to heal physically and emotionally). Be well my fellow fanatics:(

Hey guys, Oiler fan here, but luv the Bruins in the east. I don't have time to read the 1,300 posts, but I can tell you this and I'm sure it's been mentioned., it was so evident in game 7.

You just knew from what you saw after the first 3 minutes of the game, that this was going to be "another typical predetermined game to ensure that once again, this whining organization was going to win." I actually felt for the Bruins, when they had to play this team. This bush league, with these biased refs., The WWE is way more realistic than watching this garbage in the Canadien play.

Remember, there are 2 rule books in this league, one for 29 teams and a special one for Le Canadien.

"If you look at the guys, most of the guys are still going to be with us next year," Bergeron said. "And I think we have a great group of guys, a great core and we have the experience that you need in playoffs. And I think this year hopefully makes us eager to do it next year."

from the TSN articleon Lucic & Weiss.

I am full on cheering for the Rangers !

When did they last win the cup ?

1994. In fact, I can tell you the exact day, since I missed the third period taking my wife to the hospital to deliver my oldest.

I'm with Watch for the Yeti, the Rangers are not very hateable. (Except for that damned coach - who has admittedly been less dislikeable since he left Vancouver) They've got my full support this round.

Brodeur is a man of class ?, isn't he the guy who slept with his wife's sister and then ended up leaving his wife for her, class act all right.

Krys Barch approves of what Lucic did and I'm sure there are plenty more who also do, they just don't want to go on the record for it.

Edzo and Brad May also said it was no big deal and read Weise the riot act for popping off to the press about things that should stay on the ice.

Now, that's harsh. TRUE, but it's harsh.

I wouldn't have a problem in the least if New York won the Cup for two reasons:

1. It means they beat Montreal in the process. That should be obvious.

2. Vancouver sports media, and Canuck fans, would blow a freaking gasket and would be hilarious to see.

I like LA too. Either way, Anyone but les Habs.

Wow one thing I've learned, Montreal needed that victory way more than Boston did. Game was Wednesday and Habs fans everywhere STILL posting about Boston. They have a new opponent TODAY, they're still talking about the old one. I think they really needed this.

I also know this, if they make the finals they better win. Because losing means serious damage in Montreal. Winning does too, but losing will be really hard for them to swallow.

I think the NHL officiating is even worse now than in the dead puck era. At least in that era you knew if you were a skilled player, you'd have to deal with a 6'6 galoot bear hugging you all over the ice.

Now, we see a lot of that again and it's being let go but sometimes it's called. And when it's called it's usually called on the team known as big and bad. When in actuality, Montreal's D corps (or any team) does the exact same thing.

There's so much uncertainty with the rules from shift to shift. I personally know people who stopped watching NHL hockey in the past because of this crap. Why even have refs? The game turns into a free for all the deeper you get into the season. Throw all your players over the boards and fight to the death. Enjoy the Stanley Cup.

I couldn't agree more, feel strongly that we didn't get a fair shake in games 1, 2 and 7, hard to believe that they were our home games, some freaking advantage for 82 games of hard work.

If the Rangers win, Lundquist will become one of the all-time greatest goaltenders over night.

I saw a lot of "I don't care if we win the Cup, as long as Boston doesn't."

Pretty crazy, if you ask me.
