GDT: [GM65] Vancouver Canucks @ Calgary Flames | Wed, Mar. 12th | 6pm | SNP | Biggest Game of the Season

  • Xenforo Cloud is doing server maintenance Thurdsay 13th at 9 AM GMT. Downtime is to be expected during the process. Server changes were implemented recently to cope with the traffic surge last week. This seems to be affecting the user login, so please anyone experiencing this, log out and clear the browser cache. We expect to have this issue solved once the maintenance is complete.
  • We are currently aware of "log in/security error" issues that are affecting some users. We apologize and ask for your patience as we try to get these issues fixed.
I think Myers next to him has had an extremely tough go which makes his life difficult. But he's also had some undisciplined penalties/bad passes. Hopefully just a blip.
He also seems to lose track of his check on the rush sometimes, leading to chances/goals against. Its tough to be matched up against the top line of other teams, so I'm not complaining with his results so far, just that I noticed that his play has dipped a little bit.

Not too worried about it. D-men are going to make mistakes especially when they're playing a matchup role.

He hasn't been as good over the past handful of games or whatever but we're just at that point where every scoring chances and goal against feels absolutely monumental. We have to play mistake-free hockey to win which is obviously not easy.

With our medical team's...questionable track record, I am highly, highly concerned about Hughes' injury, and how it will be handled. I sincerely pray that the team is not pushing or manipulating Hughes to play when he's not ready, just so that Aquaman can eat a couple more buckets of his f***ing blueberries.

He is obviously still injured and has multiple injuries. But they are desperate now, so have no choice but to get Quinn in the lineup.

Team needs him. Quinn of course wants to play. No one is going to stop him.

Calgary is well-rested and Wolf will be tough to beat. Have to screen him.

I hope that Hughes playing is not a major risk, but oh gawd how we've missed him.

He’ll play! You know he’ll play!
Game sixty something of eighty-two versus. . . . <checks notes> . . . Game 7 of Stanley Cup Final

I will let people in on a secret

Roll your lines in the regular season. Have your stars blow their brains out double shifting in the playoffs

Someday, coaches like Wilie D will learn the latter, and coaches like Toccs will learn the former

What? They are getting reports about what reddit and Hfboards are saying about them?

Huh. I guess you can lead a horse to water

But it will still just . . . take a dump and still not drink

With how Tochett has killed any scoring ability up front, unless Demko is back by the weekend and is bubble Demko, we are not making the playoffs.

After the JT trade we looked fast and I was like ok maybe I'm wrong about Tochett it's actually the forwards but now the two new guys look slow and assimilated into the grind, dump, boring system.

We are the 2018? Coyotes!

So with their season basically hanging in the balance, they're bringing back Hughes, 'ready or not'. And even Tocchet admits he's "not 100 percent' and won't be for the remainder of the season.

I share your concern. Looks to me like Hughes is one hit away from re-aggravating whatever is troubling him. And if that happens, he'd be done for the rest of the year anyway.

Hughes is the team captain, and bleeds 'blue and green'. And supposedly he knows his own body the best. But even with him in the lineup, the Canucks playoff chances are 'faint' at best.

'Next year' is already more than just 'idle speculation'. It's becoming more of a reality every day. I'd shut Hughes down for the season and focus on the draft.

They need Hughes 100 percent healthy. And if that's not until next season--then so be it.

Canucks will win because I think the remainder of the season will be a long haul of winning and losing just going enough to keep the playoffs alive until the final game where it'll be a toss up if they make it or not.

Rushing hughes back to try and desperately get the last wild card just to get swept
As much as I dislike the system we play, if we get anything near bubble Demko along with our defence I think the team could actually be quite successful.

I also loathe that way of thinking, upsets and Cinderella runs happen all the time. The entire point of playing the regular season is to make the playoffs, 15 teams will not get the result they want but for a team leader like the nucks, playing in playoff games is the only way to learn how to win playoff games.

Your mentality pretty much makes playing in the playoffs pointless unless your the unanimous favourite.

Maybe we should just have no playoffs and go directly to the cup where the top two teams play.

Get in and....

ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN.

not really, your dreams never come true.
