We are playing a really good team tonight. I've watched quite a few of their games lately and they're good. They may not compete this season but it wouldn't surprise me if they won the cup next year with the same squad.

Honestly if Willander can my miracle come out swinging and be placed next to Hughes and hold his own (shouldn't be hard playing with Hughes) then we might have our best D since 2010/2011.

Forward group is still bottom 10 in the league but its nice to have a positive outlook in the future for defence.
Went from Pettersson, Kuzmenko, Boeser, Horvat, Garland, Miller to
Pettersson, Boeser, Garland, Debrusk, Hoglander, Suter

I'd say they need to draft in the first round quite a bit more often then they have been.

Detroit is a team that could use a goalie and maybe Demko could use a new lease on life. Obviously wouldn't be selling high on Demko but Detroit has two very good goalies coming but they aren't there yet and could use a mentor for Cossa next year. Van is going to need a back up so I'd probably take back Husso. He would get to work with a couple other Finns in Van.

Demko for Husso, Rangers 3rd 25', and Liam Dower Nilsson and Max Plante.

I don't know much about Liam Dower Nilsson and Max Plante and whether they're worth it.

Could also trade Demko to the Oilers. They really need a goalie because Skinner is terrible. Maybe set up a three-way deal so we can get a decent forward in return.

I really don't see the Wings making a play like this. Cossa may be ready to back up Talbot next season as is. That's if the Wings don't just extend Lyon as well. Goaltending has not been the issue in Detroit this season. They may not be sexy names, but they have been effective enough to allow the team to focus on utilizing assets on upgrading other portions of the roster.

The way Demko has performed this year, I don't think you are getting much value in return honestly. He has 5 quality stars in out of 14. Mackenzie Blackwood had 8 QS out of 17 games in SJ and they got a slightly better older prospect, a swap of 5ths and a 2nd for him plus having to take back a bad goalie.

Max plante was a 2nd for Detroit and Nilsson was a 5th rounder a couple yrs back.

Kind of what I based it off of. We know Demko used to be better, will he return to that who knows. I'm sure Detroit isn't going to pay extra for that risk.

If you had a chance at making the playoffs you would rather go in with Cam Talbot than Thatcher Demko. That cost is very minimal to a team that's been stowing away prospects like Detroit has been.

I get your point, but for this season anyways, it feels like more name recognition than performance. That also does not take in to account that Yzerman has been fairly methodical in his decision making, seeking long term success, rather than possible short term success. Your right, the cost itself is not outlandish. But given the positive growth of both Cossa and Augustine, and the steady play of Talbot and Lyon, and Detroit's intended competition window; a trade for Demko seems premature.

Don't love calling up Mancini right now. Seems like a ploy to show off their shiny new toy. He should get some reps with Abbotsford to learn the systems.

I doubt Mancini plays today. Think they just want to give their new pickup time with the big club and make him feel valued.

Abbotsford also doesn't play until Friday (or practice for several days, I'd assume) with the AHL on their All-Star break.

Hope the home crowd boos the American anthem like they did in Ottawa and Calgary

I don't know that booing the anthem of nearly half the team's players is necessarily the most constructive idea.

I'd just hit a "like" to your response but I can't because supposedly I'm mean to others. Lol.
