Good. The kid is responsible defensively and has good instincts. This team desperately needs a defenseman that has some hockey IQ and can actually defend.

Gonna keep my expectations down for now, been disappointed too many times by one off young defense man, like Hutton.

No evidence suggesting otherwise so I'm gonna assume that is the case.

It just goes to show how small tweaks can make a difference. The team was dressing 3 godawful puck-movers night-in, night-out: Soucy, Juulsen, and Desharnais. Take two out, drop one to the 3rd pairing, and even the slight skill upgrade that represents has really helped out this blueline.

I hope coaching and management actually recognizes this. I don't want to see those two play at the same time ever again. Actually, I would like to never see them play again for this team unless it's as 7th and 8th defensemen if theres injuries. Not even in a regular rotation.

I think EP2 is going to be a solid #4 man, perhaps even better. Between him and Willander I think out D is set for years. And a good chance Mynio is going to play NHL hockey too. In a few years.

Really hope they run Pettersson on the bottom pair with Soucy for a while and let him get comfortable in the NHL. He’s so much more confident and decisive with the puck on his stick than Juulsen/Desharnais.

I do not like these broadcasts. Having to watch on my wife's I pad rather than the tv. Had the feed, and then it died. so my wife got the tv back. And can't get into hf boards on my iPad, maybe due to interference either from her iPad or her bluetooth headphones that I am using with her iPad.

But yes an excellent period of hockey.

glad that goal was waived off, because if it hadn't been I think they would have awarded it if it wasn't overturning the original call.

Either way, the Canucks were the better team, and could have been up another Goal or 2.

IMO it wasnt goaltender interference but it simultaneously wasn’t a good challenge because he didn’t make an obvious attempt to get away from that after Hughes led him in.

Basically there is no good reason for him to go through the blue paint so if any contact happens, he needs to look like he’s making an effort to get out of the way.

The forwards are doing far better coming back as well that makes a huge difference for the d as well

Can't understand how Tocchet could look at Pedey, and still think that a player with no neck and another player with room temperature hockey IQ are any better.

Then again, great minds such as his are not for a pathetic PEON like me to understand is it now?
