Very impressive win tonight from start to finish. Game puck to Fehervary -- played great and was owed his goal, warrior to come back and finish the game after the puck to the face. Thank you Seattle and Bylsma for your contributions with the early goalie pull. Time for bed ...

A gritty 75% xG effort from Martin "The Slovakian Slayer" Fehervary has earned him tonight's most cherished prize: my game puck. Another round of stitches is a small price to pay for the ultimate token of greatness.

HMs to Charlie Lindgren, Ethen Frank, Lars Eller, Aliaksei Protas, and Rasmus Sandin.

Couldn't stream watch, but awesome win tonight. My only concern going forward is being ahead of all 31 other teams for that cursed President's Trophy!
Statistically speaking I’m more concerned about that 3rd OA seed

Zero rego losses in 2025?! Very impressive. When did they become the '94-95 NJD? Just 1.64 goals against per game so far in January (11 games). Despite their frequent possession slippage and significant top six regression they're finding ways and grinding it out. The PLD line is a handful for anyone.

Just eight games left before the break then another seven prior to the trade deadline. They need to be careful not to disrupt chemistry but I'd still like to see an additional spark brought in up front. Raddysh is okay but shouldn't be on a scoring line. Frank has done well. I guess they'll eventually waive Vrana before long and keep Frank around instead rather than send him back down. Ideally they need someone that's not only okay in a bottom six role but could conceivably play higher in the lineup. Maybe that's just Leonard eventually but more upward mobility could cement the forward mix.

I think it's gonna be Gourde. We need someone who can play both wing and centre, because we are not 100% sure which one we need. Depends which of Eller/CMM can find their game again.

Lapierre, 2nd for Gourde (no Miro this time!)

Feels a little like Carbs off season goal was to get more offense out of them, and it worked but with unsustainable shooting percentages covering up some defensive deficiencies. But since the shooting % has naturally reverted, he's emphasized better team defense lately. And it seems to be working. They've been super difficult to score on lately.

It's not realistic to expect them to dominate on both offense and defense at the same time all year long. They're talented, but not that much so. Teams will ebb and flow, and Carbs seems like he knows how to ride those shifts pretty well.

Thought the score could of easily been 7-0. Those high-danger chances by Mangy, CMM, Eller, etc typically go in. Fever was a beast, and Chucky was clutch. Overall team passing was A+.

Negs: Ovi has a weird combination of floating around, and then doing panic hustle because he was floating around and getting caught. I think he's bogging down that line...a lot.

We all knew shooting % was going to regress...let's hope it increases in April & May....maybe June.

This team is just such a crazy surprise. I’m perplexed and shocked that we lead the league after a retool on the fly like we had this offseason.

This is a good breakdown. Season is long and players (and whole teams) are going to ebb and flow a bit. I’m not ready to throw away McMichael or Lapierre or Miro. I think the Top 6 is very strong. I like McMichael up there. Things will break for him and he had a good game last night. I’d much rather give our first or second and keep our prospects this year. Offseason, maybe there is a bigger trade which includes prospects.

We do lack playmakers so adding speed and creativity is more important to me that a veteran responsible guy. We have that in spades.

I thought McMichael had a good game vs Seattle. I know the points have fallen off, but I think he has still had some good games in the mix.

I recognize this. This is a list from a few years ago for winners since they started awarding the presidents trophy in the 80s.

The last team to win both trophies is Chicago in 2013. They are the only post lockout team to win both.
