Still can't fathom why they went back to Demko.....without Lankinen, they wouldn't even be where they're at, which is still hovering around the cut line.

They must be trying to pump up Demko's trade value--there can't be any other reason.
If they're trying to move Demko, I don't think playing him is helping their cause.

Then give him something ridiculous. Even as a rental, a 3rd round pick is a steal. Chychrun is a legit #3 RHD at the time of the trade and is playing like a #2 on a better team. Just a giant missed opportunity.

I mean, sure, it should have been something they looked at, but ultimately if he wouldn’t sign here then not much would change considering how bad this year had gone. I don’t think adding him makes them a contender with everything else that’s gone wrong. He also struggled in Ottawa so who knows which version would have shown up? He’s also a lefty who “can” play the right but is significantly worse there. Not that they couldn’t use him either way, but it’s slightly less valuable.

This Canuck blueline, is so bad, it's almost comical at times. They can't turn; they can't find anyone to pass the puck to so they just give it up;, and they can't close on anybody.

Right now Soucy, Desharnais and Forbort couldn't keep the puck out of their own net in the American Hockey League.
The best thing they can do is fold their bodies into some sort of Tetris shapes and clog up the net around Demko and just eat pucks with their bodies.

Tocchet is lucky he's got some job security from the Canuck front office.....these games are the kind of results that get coaches fired.

Going into the season with Hughes, Hronek, Myers, Soucy, Forbort, Desharnais and Juulsen. You just knew this was going to be a disastrous season from the start. Add a injured Demko who no longer makes the game breaking saves. You got a season from hell.

Another mistake was not realizing that Myers improved play last year was because he was relegated to 5th and 6th minutes. The minute he gets put back into top 4 he becomes Tyler Minors again.

why the F are we piling on Miller. The guy has a MVP season and then everyone is either out of shape injured or useless.

This D is as bad or worse than anything Jimbo pulled together

Collective work rate and IQ is about as low as possible

Allvin should be begging for his job not threatening the players
I'm not piling on, but the team is undeniably struggling. They aren't anywhere near contention. My point about JT is that as he ages, his value will decline. This season is a lost cause; they're not going to fire Tocchet, and the system is fundamentally flawed, leading to low scoring all year. As you mentioned, management built the worst defense in the NHL. When you're this far from being a contender, it's typical to trade a 32-year-old center with five years left on his deal

Oh yeah, f*** Chychrun is a lefty. For some reason I completely forgot.

Who else could you possibly blame for that one?
