These 2 teams have flipped early expectations:

- LA lost Doughty to a serious ankle injury, Kopitar was turning 37, the team lost on failed bet Dubois, got trounced by EDM in the playoffs, and Blake + Robitaille were getting cooked publicly for their offseason. Fast forward to now and they're 7th in P%, 6th in the west, with a +21 goal differential. Set to get Doughty back as well.

Contrast with:

- VAN adds efficiency (via metrics) and kept their top4 D intact. Had re-signed Pettersson long-term, and stabilized the crease with Lankinen. Tocchet wins the Jack Adams and Hughes the Norris. Took EDM to the limit (nominally), lionizing Allvin/JR along the way. Fast forward to now and they're 15th in P%, have a -11 goal differential, a media circus with Pettersson/Miller, and are presently out of a playoff spot.

What a difference half a season makes.
Winner vs Losers

T$N;
CEO Charlie Jacobs said Wednesday that Neely and general manager Don Sweeney will have the chance to get the club back on track.

“We’ve been working together for, in Cam’s case, almost a couple decades now,” Jacobs said. “I have very good faith in it. This team, we’re all accountable for it. I am too, just as much as they are.

"If you look at Don Sweeney’s stewardship and Cam Neely’s stewardship since 2015, since Don took over, we’ve made the playoffs eight of the 10 years,” Jacobs said. “And listen, I’m not going to measure the success in making the Stanley Cup Playoffs, OK? Let’s be very clear about that. Our goal is to win the Stanley Cup. But you can’t win the Stanley Cup if you don’t make it to the playoffs, and our team has done that for the past eight years and I hope we do it again this year for our ninth. But it’s been some trying moments, for sure.”
“We’re aware of the expectations here,” Neely said. “We try to meet and exceed those every year. Right now, it’s a year that we’re not really accustomed to.”

we're all mad about last night and nobody seems to remember that this is the boeser revenge game where someone needs to beat the snot out of tanner jeannot
Who? Deharnais? With all the hype he could be a game misconduct and worse. All Jennot has to do is turtle and he wins.
Revenge game, might be for LA instead, the Canucks did win in their barn.

LA, without their Norris winning dman.
If they start their backup goalie that indicates their thoughts on the Canucks.

Every game is a must win for the Canucks now, if 98 pts are needed for a WC spot then the Nux need to win or get 50 pts of the 78 available. They need to be 30+% better than so far.

The Jeannot revenge thing might be all there is.

Has anyone noticed the TV crew is missing a bunch of plays or describing them totally wrong?

But again, another team that stats say they win but .... which Canuck team shows up?

I'm eating a Sausage 'N Egg McMuffin with a hashbrown.
Did you put the hashbrown in the McMuffin and slap a bunch of ketchup on it?

I need Pettersson to get going here. He’s on pace for 55 points or whatever.
The problem is that he's not on the internet and social media often enough to be exposed to opinions like this and take them into account.

"Canucks really chose a player like PDG over him" meanwhile they post a screenshot of a sub 0.5 PPG stat line with 6 goals planted next to Draisaitl

I think it’s a rather silly argument, but they did wait way too long to expose a bunch of eligible guys to waivers coming into the season (not just PDG), still not sure why they carried that bloated roster around as long as they did.

Canucks have PDG with his 3 points in 12 games on a line with Miller. Miller isn't a slouch according to most in here. Not all players work out on every team they play for.
😆 I don't always believe in everything I copy and paste. I'd still take Podz over PDG 6 out of 7 days a week.

pretty sure PDG has played a significant amount of time with Blueger, and when he was stapled next to Miller not playing like shit, he put up 6/6/12 in 30 games

Wonder if anyone holds Jeannot to account for his cheapshot on Boeser tonight. I'm all for good clean hits or a fight.

Of course not.
