He was playing probably his best hockey of the post-cup era to start the season -- not just goal scoring but controlling play. Since his return he has been ... not doing that

Best game in quite some time. Loved the third line again as well as Chychrun and Sandin. PLD continues to be great and really calmed Ovi and Protas down. Still would like to see some improvement from Strome, McMichael, and TvR especially

HMs to Logan Thompson, Ethen Frank, John Carlson, Rasmus Sandin, and Jakob Chychrun.

LT looked so calm in his net the entire game. Not many quality chances against, but he robbed a poor guy backdoor and made it look easy.

I like the 8-80-21 line, it’s good to have two guys who are excellent in terms of puck possession. If we can get Strome and CMM going again, I could see us running away with 1st place in the East.

Ovechkin's puck handling is slowly coming around, hopefully he gets close to where it was at the beginning of the season. I wonder how much the illness that sidelined Eller for over a week took the legs from everyone else too, and they're slowly regaining form.

Ducks are the 2nd worst team scoring goals, so it was just right for LT to get a shutout. I think there have been 5 previous games LT could have had a shutout, but something happened that a goal was scored.
