Pre-Game Talk: [GM42] Vancouver Canucks @ Toronto Maple Leafs | Sat. Jan 11th | 4:00pm PST | CBC/HNIC | Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground

The f***ing SOS gonna be signaled tomorrow night.

This will be a message to management and ownership that this team is shit.

A year ago, the Canucks beat the Leafs at home with an inspiring victory.

Now? Canucks look like penile leakage waiting for the surgery. A complete 180.

Feel bad for Lankinen. Canucks snowed in, in Raleigh and will be lucky to even get into TO by early afternoon.

Could easily see it being 6 or 7 -2 Leafs. Canucks have traditionally never played well in HNIC games in TO anyway. Their ponderous blueline will get eaten alive on the forecheck.

This road-trip can't end fast enough.

hope toronto lays an ASS WHOOPING on vancouver tmr. 10-3 knies with 3 goals matthews with 2 if he plays then mgnmt will finally open their eyes and see how this team is very very bad

Actually no I take it back, it will be a 5-0 loss.

Tavares (could be Nylander, doesn't make a difference) hat trick and Tanev goal yes, but most importantly a goal from OEL.

Why? Because f*** you Canucks, that's why.

Yeah I don't have a good feeling about this one.

Leafs are pretty similar to the Canucks last season where they have buy-in with their new coach and although maybe they haven't played as well as their record suggests, they are finding a way to get it done almost every night.

But perhaps getting shit on in prime time with the whole country watching will be the impetus for a trade or something.

Surprisingly whiney comments. Laid an egg last night, hopefully we see the Canucks look decent tonight. Nice to hav Petey back, think he'll pot one tonight.

Tired of the guys on here going "the Canucks need to do SOMETHING". Want a trade for the sake of doing "something". We are finally close to healthy, let's give them a chance to see what we can do over the next 5 - 6 games.

Normally I like to catch the Canucks when they come into Toronto, especially as I live 10-15 min away from the arena.

Gonna have to pass. Boring to watch team and the Toronto fans are so god damn annoying when they win, as they should be lol

Odds are really stacked against the Canucks. This is either going to be the absolute best game of the season or the absolute worst game of the season. I hate the Leafs with a passion.

The Vancouver Canucks and Toronto Maple Leafs are set to clash in a huge all Canadian matchup on Hockey Night in Canada on Saturday night, but the Vancouver Canucks have now left some doubts about whether or not that matchup will happen at all and what kind of condition the Canucks will be in if it does indeed transpire.

The Canucks played on Friday night against the Carolina Hurricanes in a game where the Canucks found themselves shutout by the Hurricanes who took the game by a score of 0-2. As if coming into the second game of a back to back off of a loss wasn’t enough however, the Canucks were also unable to travel to Toronto last night as originally scheduled.

According to comments made by Canucks insider Ian Macintyre, the team was originally scheduled to take a 2 hour flight to Toronto out of Raleigh-Durham International Airport last night, but as a result of bad weather conditions dozens of flights from that airport were forced to be cancelled. That will now leave the Canucks with the need to travel on game day, that is assuming of course that the bad weather conditions have calmed down enough to allow travel.

Of course if the Canucks are unable to travel today the game will have to be cancelled, although I suspect the team will find a window in which to make the flight at some point today. Having to travel on gameday is less than ideal for a professional sports team however and there’s no telling just how close to game time that flight will be if the Canucks do indeed make it out to Toronto today.

I wouldn’t be surprised if any delays are announced to today’s game as a result of the Canucks less than ideal travel situation, but you’ll have to stay tuned for any potential updates in that regard."

2-8 in the last 10.

It wasn't just last game that was unacceptable.

Win, or sell everyone off, fire sake style.

Especially given that the Canucks as, as I write this, in the air coming from Raleigh, the deck feels stacked against us here. We haven’t had great showings in Toronto of late, the team is struggling right now, and they’ll be tired.

On the one hand, this feels like one of those classic unexpected win scenarios where the team plays its ass off and pulls it out.

But on the other, probably more realistic hand, it feels like a potential blowout.

I’ll hope for the former but be prepared for the latter.
