IMO you saw these malaises at the end of TG and BB coaching stints when it was obvious that there was no meritocracy on the team.

There's always been a lot of special treatment for the best players on any team, but everyone expects that double standard. Issue here is that basically the whole defence keeps making mistakes and nobody gets demoted or sat or benched.

I agree ... I would gut the core first....everyone but Hughes ... going through coaches like kleenex is a bit much...if they haven't figured out hockey after a decade and more of hockey Al Arbour couldn't help them...

Point remains, the coach has clearly lost the room. Anyone remaining will not listen to him.
Job #1 of a coach is to have the players playing together as a team, can you really say Tocchet is accomplishing that?
