True but maybe that new coach knows that you need a balanced lineup and that includes the defense, rolling out 5 pylons every night that cant create any offense is definition of insanity

IMO you saw these malaises at the end of TG and BB coaching stints when it was obvious that there was no meritocracy on the team.

There's always been a lot of special treatment for the best players on any team, but everyone expects that double standard. Issue here is that basically the whole defence keeps making mistakes and nobody gets demoted or sat or benched.

Part of the problem is who do you replace them with? I'm all for benching Juulsen but it's not like we can call up Willander for a look. And I'm very hesitant to play D Pettersson when he isn't ready for the NHL.

I guess you could bench Soucy for Brannstrom

Also an actual blueline that can move the puck. Canes are def more aggressive though, Canucks are more zone defense
