Fully expecting a nose dive at this point. Not much they can do with that backend if Lankinen isn't perfect on any given night.

Hoglander should have hustled to the bench the second he had the opportunity. He is mostly useless in that situation even with a stick in his hands so he wasn't going to cover anybody. Once he started flailing trying to play the hero, you knew they were going to call it.

Tochett is not working with much at the moment, but when they go entire periods of play with a handful of shots and consistently surrender leads, he has to start wearing some of the heat as well.

Team is in scramble mode from top to bottom. I don't really have any interest in watching them get blown out in a wild card spot which is probably best case scenario at this point. I think they need to start thinking about next season and how they can extract some value from the current roster. I would not be against seeing Boeser traded for a picks package which gives them some capital at the draft to shop for a proper defensive upgrade should it come available. I certainly am not interested in seeing a long-term extension at this point considering the cap penalties coming up this summer.

Who knows how the Miller v. EP situation is going to play out but they better hope they get it right.

Management has their work cut out for them.

Did Anderson Play the puck there? Isn't that just a slightly late hit
Weak call. Anderson's trying to play the puck, then turns right into Hoglander who pushes him to the ice. But Habs fans screaming about everything, including their own player tripping over his own feet on one play, finally won over the refs.

last minute of a tie game, i've seen plenty worse than that go uncalled.

I wish we got calls like this at home
If the home fans understood the game, and were actually watching like Canadien fans were tonight maybe we would.

Maybe they are. But I'm not ever going anywhere.
Haven't checked this in a while, but I see the Canucks are back down at 30th in all-time winning percentage. Only Seattle and Columbus are worse. This is a garbage franchise and always has been. Enjoy!
Well for us long suffering fans, we only had 3 winning seasons in our first 20 years. That is going to seriously cause ugly numbers. And then nearly a decade of dim Jim didnt help

Hard to believe this same management group with Tocchet as lead assistant coach won the cup with Letang, Schultz and Daley on the same blueline but here they're obsessed with giants who can't move the puck.
Prime Dumoulin, Cole. Young Olli Maatta.

ANYWAYS. On a related but less reffing related note:

1) Canucks defense is outright terrible. Soucy in particular is stealing cheques. You absolutely do not, under any circumstance, leverage the future to try and make a run this year. If we're playing any 2 of Soucy, Myers, Juulsen, Brisebois, Desharnais, or Forbort during the playoffs (which we almost certainly won't be making anyways) we'll get cooked by any half decent team.
2) I like Hutson. A bit sketchy defensively but so was Hughes in his early years. Fun player to watch.
3) I still think you trade Miller if you have to trade one of the two but great game from him tonight.
4) Tocchet is probably on the phone trying to fire Hoglander to the moon as we speak. He's been pretty decent lately but definitely a bad play to end the game there.
5) I need a new hobby.

Guys on the post-game show were saying that tonight's game was the 12th blow lead game of the season--only one off the league lead.

And I would imagine that whatever team has blown 13 leads is at the bottom of the league.

I've seen Juulsen and Soucy have some bad nights so far this season--but tonight's game might set a new low. At times it was so bad, it was comical.

When those two guys are forced to form your second pairing---there's literally no hope.

Last PGT people were saying (sarcastically) the team will never score again.

Grinded out another point without our #1 centre, #2 dman, and #1 goalie. This is a reasonable result while the team hopes for reinforcements from both within and via trade.
I'm always pro-trade but it doesn't make sense this year unless Pettersson comes back on fire once he's back on the ice.

Though he has a lot to do with it, the team doesn't have the same juice this season. The defense corp beyond Hughes, especially with Hronek out, is just not serious.

Demko is also a black cloud hanging over the team. He's never gonna be the guy we saw in the Bubble against Vegas again. It's over but he still has one more year on his deal.

What's funny is this is the complete polar opposite of last season. Going into the lead in the 3rd last year and it was basically a guaranteed win.

My feelings towards this team this year can be summed up in two words & 7 letters and will get me banned if I post it here

Beyond frustrating watching this group

Props to everyone here (was pretty much everyone) that knew this defence was going to be an issue going into the season. Hard to believe Allvin gets paid thousands of dollars and couldn't see it.
I might be misremembering but I recall universal hate on the Desharnais signing and very mixed feelings with Forbort. I honestly don't mind Myers at his price tag, although it's not ideal, but Soucy turning into a complete plug was hard to predict.

... which should probably indicate that adam foote has too much say in the makeup of the defense (which is also inexcusable)

Team was full lock down with a lead last year.

This year, the complete opposite.

I wonder what’s different…

over reacting. He's making league minimum, and should be our 7th man at best. And to everyone bitching that Hughes should not have played tonight, hey it probably got us a point. that we need. Hope Petey is back soon.
Petey is not saving this team..Its Tocchets 1980s system he is trying to get this team to play. And with a shit defense it's not working..I keep saying Tocchet is the issue..
