The only point of having Cole and Lane is to go brag on the main board that we have Cole and Lane. It doesn't make us better. It creates other problems.
I would have loved to get Cole just because his trade value would have been much higher than the position he was drafted in. Pickup the best asset available, no?

(then again, if he doesn't sign a contract with us, his value drops in a trade)

Assuming we move one or both of Savard/Matheson at the deadline/offseason, then who'd be on board with signing Demidov's buddy DeAngelo to a short term contract to help fill in the right side?:teach2:

Not talking about DeAngelo in particular because I don’t have time to review his history of incidents. I think one talented misfit/weirdo/loner can be handled in a great dressing room. More than that and things can quickly get out of hand. We already have our hands full with the Laine reclamation project.

If by some miracle Habs make the POs, any chance/possibility that demidov can join us for that run? I'm not knowledgeable on the rules between KHL/NHL.

He would have to be eliminated and SKA would have to agree to let him go before June 1st. Unlikely SKA will let him go a minute earlier than they have to.

I could be talking out of my ass here but my understanding is that his deal doesn't end with the KHL until May 31st, so we would have to make it until at least the Conference Finals for this to be a reality.

SKA being SKA, Russian, and in the KHL pretty much guarantees that he won't be let out of his contract early because they're going to take every second they possibility can to get him to not leave.

By the one way, not flirting or anything, but I assume that’s you in the avatar picture. You’re a very handsome man if I may say so.
Hahaha, I wish bc that guy is one funny mofo! But no no it's japanese comedian Akiyama Ryuji. Arrrggh 0-2. Is this team they're facing even supposed to be good? Think i've never heard of them before today. :laugh:

@Zorro

I also don't know how that works exactly. My hunch says that even though his contract is until May 31st, it can end sooner and be connected to how far his team goes in the playoffs.

I think the KHL playoffs (2nd round or early 3rd round) is connected to the Habs last regular season game.
* KHL Regular season ends Mar 23rd
* KHL playoffs take place from Mar 26th - May 25th.
* Habs last regular season game is April 16th.

As far as I know, teams are not allowed to sign players during the playoffs. Well, they are allowed to sign them but they can't play until the following season. I think that happened with Romanov didn't it?

if he has refused to stay multiple times the idiots should get the message. Either threaten his family or offer to let him go for a bribe.
