GM37 Caps v Bruins

nice block by Fehevary

Watching the other teams broadcast makes you realize how much prep work the Caps pbp team does in learning the other teams names & numbers… half the time when something happens and it’s not Ovi or Carlson the other teams announcers just awkwardly describe the action without specifying who did it

Idk maybe it's just a rich man's problem but I feel like they're lacking one skilled winger for me to feel comfortable about their roster. Can't see why they still wouldn't let Miro to have a decent tryout time on top lines. I don't see how that would hurt their game in general, McMichael is obviously struggling lately, just have a look at someone else..

I’d like to see McMichael play as the center on the third line for a bit. Eller is underwhelming.

I think they (correctly) feel that Miro is both 1) not quite ready to be trusted defensively in crunch time and 2) not forcing their hand enough offensively. I also don't want to move McMichael back to center for no reason.

I agree though we're lacking one more winger, and while there is an abundance of long-term options in-house, I maintain that the solution for this season should be acquired in another trade.

No issue with getting one via trade, just have a question what's the plan with Miro at this point? He's not scoring, not playing much, not used on special teams, not sent down. He's in limbo. Do they plan on making him a 4th liner or something?

So does Eller. Case in point, his inability to make a simple clear when he had three opportunities caused Roy to take a penalty.

Keep McMicahel at wing if you want but it’s obvious he is struggling playing the right side. Move him to his natural side.

No more Lappy, Lars back in the hot seat!!

🤣

This is on CMM to find his game again.

I guess I fundamentally disagree with the premise that young guys have to be playing top line minutes and special teams at all times or else they're regressing or stagnating.

I don't think they're planning on making him a 4th liner, but I do think that right now he helps the team the most when he is in a 4th or 3rd line role and his development is helped the most by playing that role. He's 20yo in his second pro season, he'll be fine
