Hughes & Pettersson
  • Won’t make the road trip to Calgary & Seattle
  • Pettersson is probably a week away; give or take a day
  • Hughes is week-to-week
Hughes Playing Against San Jose
  • Wouldn’t have been injured further playing that game
  • Won them that game with a couple of assist
  • Does not think him playing made a difference in the injury
  • Talked to doctors, the players, and coaches to determine if he should play
Last Night’s Game
  • Play the cards you are dealt
  • Some guys are getting opportunities and need to handle situations correctly
  • This will make these players better in the long-run
  • There were other mistakes by a lot of guys with 4-5 minutes left
  • Mentions the line changes being bad
  • Need to get over the mistakes and focus on the next game
  • Don’t make the mistakes again
Shorter Shifts for Defencemen
  • Forwards need to be better at identifying when they should get the puck in deep so the defencemen can change
Goalies
  • Both goalies will play on this trip
  • Haven’t decided who’s playing on Tuesday

The game versus Seattle was in the bag until a series of errors and brain farts. It wasn't like they got absolutely stomped. Just tighten it up for the whole 60. They're going to beat Calgary and then turn around and beat Seattle.

To me this is the opposite, last year when everything was going great you add to the team aggressively like Rutherford did.

A season like this you only shop long term for another Hronek type deal, and those are super rare trades and difficult to find a partner for.
Who though is the question. Only reasonable name I've seen mentioned is Byram and Petttersson and we don't have the extra assets to acquire them like they did with Hronek.

Unbelievably cursed season for a cursed franchise when you add everything up.

Demko out for months
Joshua gets cancer
Boeser takes a dirty cheapshot and still hasn't quite recovered
Hronek out for months
Hughes out for weeks now
Pettersson now potentially out weeks
Miller out a month for personal issues

After a promising season last year, apparently the hockey gods decided (again) that Canucks fans can't have nice things.

The hockey gods mustve been busy doing other things last year. We only got their attention with Peteys signing and then the 1st game of the playoffs though

As bad as we've looked at times so far this season I always had the firm belief that we'd eventually turn it around once the team gets healthy and we make a move or two.

But neither of those things have happened, and now we're in an even worse spot than we have been with Hughes and Hronek both out multiple weeks. Petey being out of the lineup for a week doesn't even seem like that big of a deal in comparison.
