Sky is falling.

It's funny because if this team was 7-3 or even 5-5 in OT I don't think there would be this kind of negativity.

Defense needs to be addressed but Allvin will cook something up. I expect this team will have a strong second half and this negativity will be an afterthought.

So sick of Petey

Overpaid soft wimp

Guy has had 3 seasons to build up his body and strength and he not could bother one bit

Looks like a baby deer on the ice

Trade him away

Team has quit on Tocchet and clearly he has zero control of the dressing room

Move on, he was never qualified to coach this team in the first place
And hire who exactly?

Full season the Canucks now have a 36% GF% at even strength without either Hughes or Brannstrom on the ice. It’s catastrophically bad and the coaching staff not playing Brannstrom is frankly a joke at this point.
Had the same thought watching the 4 towers butcher the puck on every touch. It’s inexcusable. Tocchet and Foote need to move into the 21st century where hockey revolves around skill and speed.

I don't really have an issue with EP's reaction. He said next question and they asked him the same thing lmao. In the context of a close loss against a hated coach in the middle of a bad season after he's publicly shut down his social media to avoid having to deal with all the off ice speculation and drama.

Ideal? No. Calmly giving disinterested 5 word answers every time this comes up would work a lot better.

I'm so sick of watching Hughes stuck with Myers and I'm so sick of watching EP stuck with a bunch of grenade handlers on d who ruin every shift with offensive possession. Hronek can't come back soon enough and we need a trade.

For all the talk about EP and Miller, this stat is the problem with the team. We have a McDavid tier dman right now and then after that every single dman is bottom pairing at best save for short spurts of looking better than that and not one of them can actually move the puck or contribute to sustained ozone possession with any consistency.

Nobody probably wants me to do this, but this is definitely Allvin's problem. Not his fault.

You spell JT Miller wrong

he has been traded twice due to butting heads with teammates

and soon there will be a 3rd time

I saw that the Senators official Twittee account posted a video of their locker room post victory and well, here are a few screen grabs. 😂

Something has to give, our results and underlying numbers are lottery worthy when Hughes is on the bench. Some of the blame rests on management for assembling such an ineffective and poorly constructed defense core, but the fact that Tocchet continues to sit the only other effective puck mover on our roster in Brannstrom is mind boggling. Really starting to erode my faith in the coaching staff.

Lottery is an understatement - it’s worse than any team in the NHL since they started tracking these stats. The Sabers who blatantly tanked harder than any other team I’ve ever seen for McDavid are the only ones close on the numbers.

Even if you acknowledge that Brannstrom only succeeds in sheltered third pairing minutes, there’s at least a world where he DOES succeed.

These other guys outside of Hughes don’t have that. The poor dude is holding on to the puck way more in the offensive zone because he has zero faith that his partner can even handle a pass.

Anyone know who asked those last two questions?

Just some thoughts after last nights game...

1) The defense is not good enough and you'll never find any combination of the current defenders that will have a positive net outcome...that said, just for my sanity sake I would much rather watch Friedman paired with Hughes than Tyler Myers...it might take a few games to get him comfortable, but he's better than any of the current options available.
2) Lankinen has come back to earth...he's by no means playing poorly, but he's not winning us games on his own like earlier on. He is a quality backup and he's bought us time to get Demko back, but the time is now to give Demko the load of games...sink or swim.
3) Didn't really have a problem with Miller except on the Norris goal...he really needs to get a goal and get some swagger back in his game.
4) EP is such a puzzling player, thought he played ok but ok isn't good enough for an $11.6m player, and far too often his game is just "ok". Injured or not injured doesn't matter, if you're in the lineup you need to produce and he just isn't.
5) Garland and Sherwood are the only "motors" on this team right now and it's unfortunate that their efforts largely go unnoticed and/or unmatched by their teammates. Hard to drag people into the fight when they seem disinterested.
6) PDG gets shit on a lot by people around here, but his work ethic and work along the boards is so valuable to the lineup...maybe he's not the ideal top 6 player to put with Miller and Boeser long term, but he's a guy who will provide some energy and a spark on occasion and really should be in the lineup as a regular.
7) Please 7-pound baby Jesus, make my Christmas wish of getting Tyler Myers tf out of here come true...truly a defensive nightmare on a consistent basis.

If these kids can’t handle a bit of heat from the media how will they handle a game 7 in the Stanley cup finals? This is the cleansing fire they need to either prove themselves worthy or not to.

If we're serious about contending, we need to acquire at least 1 more defenseman who doesn't treat the puck like it's a bomb on their stick.

Realistically, even though our point percentage is above .500, this feels like a season from hell.

Tocchet calls out JT yet he is the incompetent moron that pairs him with Boeser in OT

This is not minor hockey where you reward little Jimmy with extra ice time in ot but I should not be surprised given he is a minor quality coach

You play 3 guys that can skate and cover checks if they don’t win puck possession

Should have been petey and garland with hughes. Speedy guys with defensive skills

Tocchet has lost the room. The system he has brought in this year is utter garbage.
Going back to last season , still has no idea how to run a powerplay...tired of all the excuses and drama on this team.
