Vegas just grinds you down and then wait for the third period, particularly with a team like the Canucks playing their third in four nights.

I'd be surprised if the Canucks can get anything out of this game. L.A. and Edmonton won again tonight, and if Vegas holds on, the top of the division is further out of reach.

Blunt fact....this team is good enough to hang around in the playoff race but not to do much else. Blowing up their prospect pool and draft picks to add to this group would be a big mistake.
I think your post is pretty much a consensus forecast from the beginning of the season.

Tocchet genius coaching

Attempt to defend a tie?

Splits up pp1 because why? No mater what the logic it is clearly not working

Tocchet is choking this team to death

I am confused what to do going forward. Other than Hughes I am not sure if this is the core we should go with going forward.

Miller going to be 32
Pettersson is a shell of his former self
Boes looking for big dollars

Something has got to give here. Allvin has some really tough decisions ahead. This team needs a big change, but you don't want to change too much or it will chase Hughes away.

Allvin and Co have some tough decisions ahead.

I still think it depends on the move. Team isn’t going anywhere without Miller and Pettersson playing better but also aren’t going anywhere without another top 4 D. I don’t think they can be making big moves for temp fixes though. But something like the Hronek deal for a long term improvement could work

Too bad they wasted so much last year.

They both have been terrible, I honestly think pettersson has been worse

Can’t say I agree

Relative to salary, I think Pettersson has been worse. Miller makes 3.6M less and has the better PPG.

Miller is locked in defensively when he tries (like against MacKinnon) and Pettersson is generally solid defensively even when he isn't producing offensively.

By the eye test, Miller looks more dangerous to me. Pettersson is often straight up invisible. Miller at least looks dangerous from time to time.

Heinen no finish whatsoever
puck's been going in for him a bit more since the trade rumours started but i don't think he's actually played any different - still doesn't look all that fast or impactful on the forecheck and we rly need speed. but then again, it might make sense to keep him around until joshua gets his form back
