Yeah… but this is below our level of play. 50/50 o-zone time at 5x5 is not good for us. We haven’t done even that.

Worst period of the season IMO. Looked exactly like most of last year. Slow to every puck, losing battles, incapable of making a pass in transition. They didn't give up a crazy amount and are still up but won't win often playing like they did offensively.

Look at schedule. Widely reported that his return is either just before break or just after. The just before is like 3 games in 4 days. I think they may wait until just after break… like first game back rather than a week and 3 games earlier.

I think it’s a combination of jumping out to the early lead plus being on the second half of a back to back (with travel troubles as well). While it always drives fans nuts we all know it’s common for teams to take their foot off the gas with the lead, and that’s probably exacerbated when you’re already not fresh. The problem is when it happens and the other team starts taking over momentum it can be hard to turn it back on. Starting the third with a PP should hopefully help get them back on track.

Taking multiple too many men penalties is an unacceptable mental mistake though.
