Watched from about six rows up and there were good stretches and bad stretches. Caps largely looked like a team who just won four straight over three good teams (and the Islanders) and didn’t play with the same structure and precision they’ve proven they’re capable of. The cross-ice passing was especially bad.

Wouldn’t feel too bad about this one. The Sharks were fun to watch and are 10-6-3 over their last 19 games, which is a top-10 record in the NHL over that span. They’re pacing right now to almost double their point total from last year.

I was there too. Celebrini is the real deal and well worth paying to watch in person. Will Smith was an absentee, or at least not noticed by me and I was looking for him

Caps played just OK but the Sharks were better than a bottom dwelling team,, so it’s not a scandal to have taken a point and not two. That said,Wilson end-of-game penalty is not what you expect from a leader.

Sharks are a different team with Celebrini in the lineup.

With: 7 - 5 - 4 (.563 points percentage; would be playoff WC2 in the west based on current standings)
Without: 3 - 8 - 1 (.292 points percentage; would be worst in the NHL by a wide margin)

I honestly didn’t even know that Will Smith was playing until he got rocked into the boards right in front of me late in the third. He was a ghost out there. Celebrini was a ton of fun to watch though, as you said. He’s like a magnet for the puck and was super impressive. I liked Eklund too.

A letdown at some point after a bunch of tough comebacks and wins over top teams is inevitable

Sharks skated hard, congrats to them
Giving up 1 in reg also ain't too shabby
Take the point, leave the cannoli

light rest of the week, get some good practices in and get ready for @ TOR and @ MTL (w/Laine) Fri/Sat

Not to give excuses, was the ice particularly shitty last night? There seemed to be a ton of pucks bouncing over sticks or randomly jumping off the puck carrier's stick in a way that had as much impact as anything the Sharks did defensively.
